Tough to see a way out for these teams where they keep their new conf TV $.
Like AM w UT.
If most of SEC wants FSU they have no recourse.
Multiple CFB & hoop nation championships & their 1st in college baseball recently without FSU in SEC.
They have to hate this idea.
On the bright side - Florida v FSU an SEC game frees up a valuable OOC slot.
Left ACC in 1990 2 separate themselves from Clemson.
With SC usually mediocre/ bad on the SEC scale, Clemson joining might help.
How can John C Calhounâs former residence not be in the SEC ?
Same thing with Clemson if the rest of the SEC wants them. South Carolina would have to sit down and shut up.
Dan Wetzel reporting that the SEC will reject Florida St.

Pardon me for laughing my rear off.
Why in the world would the SEC add FSU?
FSU could be stuck.
They arenât prestigious enough to get into the B1G, nor at the top of their list, and are redundant in the SEC since Florida is already there.
Could FSU fall into the Big 12âs lapâŠand would that lead to Clemson also?
If we land FSU + Clemson+ North Carolina State + Virginia techâŠthat would be a robbery!
Oh boy!
If FSU gets AAU status, then I think they might have a shot at the B1G
I could see the B1G wanting to tap that Florida market. It still might be a long shot, but you never know.
It really comes down to money for the ACC. If the blue blood ACC schools got paid around the same as the SEC/B1G schools, then Iâm sure theyâd be happy to stay put. Unfortunately, I doubt unequal revenue shares that drastic would ever become a reality.
FSU -all this without a sure thing conditional SEC offer ?
Its not rational.
Just these 2 added to Louisville, Pitt makes a salty B12 Piedmont w Cinn and WVU.
Love it for UH. We need more cracks at B12 Texas & regional teams.
If the B1G is the only option there not AAU sounds as if there in a pickle. If B1G sticks to there AAU guns, which I highly doubt. FSU is the Rodney Dangerfield of CFB.
This false narrative was brought into sharp relief last month when the Association of American Universities (AAU) looked at eligible Florida public universities and selected the University of South Florida over FSU for membership. USF joins UF as the only Florida public universities that are members of the AAU .
I wonder what FSUâs non-Ag research budget is.
Their $360 million overall budget sounds pretty good, but if a big chunk of that is oranges and grapefruit, then they may be little closer to an AAU invite than UH.
B12 SouthâŠmake it so.
UH needs more cracks at TT.
Cinn in North.
Florida St. may make people forget San Diego St.âs failed attempt to join the PAC12.
I wonder if the AAC would be interested in Florida St.? That would be too funny.
The lady in the next cubicle was like âwhat was that noiseâ
Then âoh itâs just Steve taking a sledge hamner to his computer, againâ
No.
Not a penny.
48 teams
24 big10
24 sec
Everybody else is in the flood zone.
Future cfp:
16 teams
Best case scenario:
7 from big10
7 from sec
1 from BIG12
1 from best G5
Why one only one from BIG12? Because it shows the BIG12 is no longer a power conference.
Worst case scenario:
The big10 and sec secede and form their own college football competition al la nfl.
Either way this is a race against the clock for us to get to an AAU status. This is our only way to stay in a true power conference.
Think this is FSU crying wolf again. Posturing.
If you are Houston, you do not want FSU blowing up ACCâs GOR.
Big12 grant of rights would go belly up too, as they are structured similar.
Could see a repeat of SWC, where some schools from legacy big12, pac12 and ACC combine to form a league of their own.
No we want the ACC GOR to hold, at least for now.
Bro we arenât getting AAU until 2036⊠that $2b endowment will take 4-8 years to show results.
