I missed this news late last year. Looks like I’ll be able to watch all of ESPNs content eventually without having to subscribe to cable or satellite. This will probably put a decent dent in those companies subscriber bases.
If the price is right I’ll be happy.
Would also mean you won’t have to have cable or satellite to watch next year’s CFP final four.
Now, if they can just move those games to Saturday I’ll really be happy.
I’m guessing the price will be somewhere around $30/month; that’s about the difference between streaming packages with and without ESPN networks, in my experience.
Why would a casual Houston sports fan become a die hard Illinois fan when it 100% reasonable for them to become of the fan of a school IN THEIR MARKET!
People living in Houston aren’t terribly likely to log in and watch a UH game if they are already loyal to a larger brand like UT or aTm, which large numbers of Houstonians are. They are more likely to log in and watch those larger brands.
And from a national audience/viewership perspective, the largest brands will get the largest number of people logging in to watch from coast to coast.
yeah…they tune into UT and TAMU BECAUSE they are IN the same state as those schools and have a heavy presence IN the Texas major markets!
Likewise, Houstonians aren’t tuning into UCLA football just because they won multiple championships in basketball (as you repeatedly claim). The B1G is hoping to get those fans from LA AND California. NOBODY IN HOUSTON CARES!
Your logic is beyond backwards

If the interface is at all like the ESPN+ interface, that’s going to be really frustrating.
