Best to start fresh and retire all the PAC records and branding.
What schools ?
Whatâs left of OG AAC has a nice deal considering the ceiling of the additions.
AAC an ESPNs cash cow - UH Hoop final 4s and UCF/Cinn FB runs, etc.
Memphis this year if they beat FSU next.
Would they break it up ?
Sunbelt SO salty w AAC & extra ESPN cable games. Army/ ECU/ Memphis/ Navy/ Tulane.
Those schools not leaving for less $.
AAC would be gone or TV $ gone.
I am thinking of schools like Memphis, UTSA and/or Tulane but they will not leave unless the Pac-12 helps them with exit fees.
Post of the year!
Seem all in on spending at G5 level.
No issue w travel $ if money is right and buyout minimal.
fwiw
11-13 million newPAC v $7 million AAC now
Its getting wild.
They should add UNLV, UNT and Rice. Tulane and Memphis missing the cut would be fun
Cal and Stanford?!? Yeah right
Pac 12 is going to wait to see if ESPN extends the ACC tv contract. If ESPN doesnât opt in by February 2025, ACC schools can go wherever they are invited.
Wonder why SMU is not included
Because they would rather be with academic privates than that group.
Memphis and UNT (or UTSA) would be huge get. Does UTSA have a bigger budget than UNT?
UTSA is beyond brokeâŠnot sure how they can afford a buyout for a lateral G6 move
Theyâll have to beg Austin for it. UT may actually allow it.
Would Califord ever be willing to accept being in a conference with academic lightweights like Boise State?
Why would they have to beg?
Austin controls the purse strings for.all UT system schools.
Gotta ask their daddy firstâŠ
Going to Daddyâs house this weekend
Interesting.
$7.8 billion television contract, which begins in the 2026-27 season. Gould said the new agreement has a look-in provision.
The Pac-12 will be eligible for an automatic qualifying spot if they reach the eight-member mark.
So this pretty much kills Hawaii right? Unless they get PAC I dont see them sticking around playing what, UTEP and the the backfills from Montana, North Dakota and South Dakotas.
