We have nothing in common with them, and they have nothing in common with the majority of college football programs
They were sanctioned in the 80s for a reason. Now they have the legal ability to pay for players. It doesn’t matter what conference they are in, they will likely have more resources than most programs.
That’s why nobody wants to add SMU because they don’t fit anywhere other than the Big 12, but TCU already has that market. The ACC added SMU to merely save their media contract payouts
How many times does this have to be said to you lol
oh, I know…I’m just letting LAW he was rooting for a scenario that put SMU back into a Power Conference and I was rooting for an outcome that not only would have denied them but demoted Baylor, as well
yes…that’s why I thought the PAC killing the Big 12, with UH finding a way in, would have resulted in about a half dozen LESS Power 4 schools than we have now.
The worst scenario, from a numbers standpoint happened. You want the club to MORE Exclusive…not LESS
Luckily, we did not cave and take in Washington State and Oregon State.
no…there have multiple reports, including one that HAD they raided the Big 12+ , they had Houston and TCU as their main targets.
Most of the Big 12 brands, like a Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor, West Virginia, etc. would have been re-valued as junk bond status, just like Oregon State and Washington State
That was a bogus report from a TCU Homer that both the schools and the PAC denied.
I called BS on that the minute it was posted here years back because it listed TCU, and was not confirmed by any source (including PAC sources); only a local TCU beat writer.
TCU is R2 and the PAC in that time did NOT consider R2 schools.
TOTALLY non-credible on that basis.
Had it said “Tech and UH” it would be plausible.
But not an R2 school at the time.
Sorry, but UH was never on the table.
The PAC in its previous form NEEEEEVER admitted religious or R2 schools.
If it did, then BYU would have been invited eons ago. You should have dismissed any rumor involving TCU on that very basis when it first popped up, as I did.
yet, they almost pulled the trigger on Southern METHODIST University so much so their commissioner did a campus tour.
Your arguments have no credibility…as they are all static black and white precedent BS…only narrow minded lawyers think that way…businessmen think in terms of creativity
