The devil is always in the details…
This reduces the G6 back to 1 team and allows ESPN to give the SEC another slot.
Highest ranked G6 has always been the way it should go. We’ll see how they end up handling the P4s.
between this and the notre dame thing, do these people ever read anything
Big changes are
All p4 champs have auto bids regardless of rank
ND , if in the top 12 rankings makes the playoffs
They take Only 1 g5/6, whichever of them is the highest ranked
This way we don’t have to worry about our champ getting in even if they are #20 in a down yr and losing out to 2 g5s getting in
We simply now have to work on getting a 2nd team in
Idk why we have to simp for Notre Dame. Get in a conference or be at the mercy of the committee.
Damn… the Miami rule…
A&M probably beats Duke helping the SEC to save some face in last year’s CFP if this rule were in place…
Pretty much guarantees this was the last year with two G schools. If they want to really do away then be honest and just break into a new division. Elitist BS within the FBS division is stupid and annoying.
I’m okay with Notre Dame staying independent so long as we consider them Group of 6.
The 2 G6 schools getting rolled in the cfp didn’t help their cause…
Again, this is utter Bullllllllllllllllll Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
The sec is clearly behind this. I surely hope that these bastaaaaaaaaaards get sued.
Yeah… it’s not like they are UConn and very few conferences want them. They could join any conference today
Love that idea!
BS to give any privileges to ND. They’re all but guaranteed a spot with their soft schedule. Basically they just need to win one game with either Miami, BYU, or SMU to maintain a biased ranking of #12.
Wisconsin (4-8)
Rice (5-8)
MSU (4-8)
Purdue (2-10)
North Carolina (4-8)
Stanford (4-8)
BYU (10-2)
Navy (10-2)
Miami (10-2)
BC (2-10)
SMU (9-4)
Syracuse (3-9)
I hope BYU kicks their butt.
P4 Champs - Bye
P4 3rd place teams 1st round vs 4 highest ranked G5 champs
P4 runners up had their shot
