Playing on the road at Cincy has never been easy. I know Wes Miller has them playing way under their potential currently but there were too many traumatic games vs the Cumberland led teams in the AAC to ever consider them an easy game at their arena. Maybe it’s just me lol
They do look a little better with James back on the floor.
Also take note that. Bamba Miller had 21 rebounds tonight and he plays next to 7’2 Thiam
B12 is loaded this year, got to put away the Cinci’s because Zona, ISU, BYU and KU are for real. Even TT beat Duke.
We can definitely lose this game. I am little nervous. Is Khalifa back?
Supposed to be… but I don’t think he makes the difference in winning or losing this game.
Need $harp to stay on the court and in offensive rhythm and need Jojo to stay out of foul trouble and Cenac to have double digit boards.
Just to add to the theatrics of the game and hype up our first conference game.
On paper and at a surface level, we should win comfortably. but…
-
the same could have been said last year against UCF, but we needed a last second J’Wan miracle to beat them. We could not stop Moustapha Thiam, who is now on Cincinnati.
-
Cincinnati’s offense is pretty bad, but their defense is actually really good. The one team that beat us this year had that same defensive identity.
-
Sahko. He is expected to play, but are we expecting real minutes from him? We just got out-rebounded by MTSU, which is a bad rebounding team. Cincinnati is 7’3 at the 5 and 6’11 at the 4. Their power forward just had a 21 rebound game!!! Will he be defended by 6’4 Ramon Walker when Cenac is out?

Jizzle James. For those not following the Cincinnati drama, their star player from last year left or was kicked off the team for what seemed like star diva reasons. Out of desperation on both sides, he rejoined the team 3 games ago. He has been individually great in the last 3 games. He got his first start last game, and Cincinnati had one of their best performances of the year. Could be spark a turn around

Cincy has been bad, but if you look at the resume of their players individually this is like a top 15 roster. to not be underestimated
Obviously, I think we will win, but this game could be much more dramatic and exciting than people expect.
Playing on the road anywhere usually has never been easy.
We have a 12 game winning streak versus Cincinnati dating back to 2020, which includes the last three times @ Cincinnati.
I expect Jizzle to sizzle in this game, to show Coach Sampson what could have been.
Cincinnati’s front line size worries me. If UH has a good day shooting, there will not be any rebounds for Cincinnati to chase.
Haslametrics has UH winning by double digits.
time to lock in and reach flow state ![]()
I know that he is an 18 year old kid, but Cenac needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end. He also needs to work on his FTs…… think he shooting 61% from the line. He is too good a shooter for that to be the case.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter how old he is when you’re talking about effort and intensity. He needs to step up.
I don’t know, JWan Roberts ( one of my all time favorites)……lacked agression for a couple of years and then blossomed.
Yeah, I get that, and I would have had the same comment for him. But Roberts wasn’t in the starting lineup in those early years, either.
Cenac is progressing, but we need more from him as a starter.
True.
What makes you think he’s not working on his free throws?
Answer: his FT percentage?
That’s not an indicator that he isn’t practicing or working on it. Do people really believe that CKS doesn’t have his players practicing free throws? Improvement takes time. Sometimes it takes multiple seasons. It doesn’t mean he isn’t working on it.
The jump to the conclusion that he isn’t working on it is lazy.
I’ve watched Greg Kite work on his free throws. In practice, he rarely missed. He was still < 50% for his career.
Finally, a mind willing to find the way
