Honestly the only Big 10 team that concerns me is Michigan. We seem to match up well against Big 10 teams on March.

Coach sounded a little under the weather - kind of subdued.

His discussion about JoJo was fantastic. Everyone should give that a listen.

Illinois got a lot of love from the voters this week. To their credit, they beat both Purdue and Nebraska on the road last week.

Good to get these guys at home. Though one of our few home losses over the years was to UCF back when Taco Fail played there.

The Old Men look ahead to a tough week against UCF and at BYU:

Already have my picks for who will post the first pic of empty seats at 5:45 and chastising the fans.

Expect a lot of empty seats at 6pm because it’s almost impossible to get in your seat by then if you actually have a job and/or don’t live on campus. I’m so tired of this crap.

This is one of those that we really need the students to show up on time for; otherwise, the energy at the beginning of the game will be non-existent. They had a weak showing on Saturday morning.

Regardless, it’s probably gonna be light at tip-off.

I look at that ESPN pie chart for the last few years! Sometimes it is hard to trust, but overall, it is right more than it’s wrong! They also change it during the season when they see that their predictions might need to change. And also, they state the obvious most of the time. ALSO TO CONFIRM ESPN’S MATCHUP PREDICTOR HAS US FAVORED IN ALL THE REST OF OUR GAMES, EXCEPT AT IOWA STATE. When the season started it ESPN only had us losing one game over the regular season.

It was the first time in program history that they had back to back wins over top five opponents on the road.

No excuses says Coach, did everyone get theirs?

Game days don’t always play nicely with work schedules — but tipoff still matters. Winning at home starts with energy in the building, and that means Coog Nation in their seats from the opening possession. Consider this your friendly, official permission to sneak out a little early and help set the tone inside Fertitta Center.

From One Boss to Another:
Please allow ______________________________ to leave work early on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2026.
The Houston Cougars are in the title hunt once again and face UCF at 6 p.m., Wednesday. We need everyone in their seats at TIPOFF. To make things easier, take the afternoon off!
We need Fertitta Center packed and ready.
SHOW UP, BE LOUD AND WEAR RED!
See you Wednesday!

Good luck… Texans games don’t even get everyone in at kick-off…

A for effort!

The ONLY way to change the crowd arriving later is to provide an incentive other than seeing our Coogs… we know that doesn’t work on Houstonians.

I would say do a raffle every game and you can only win the raffle if your ticket is scanned prior to tip-off… and make the prize something people would actually want… a game worn jersey, team autographed basketball, $500… something… UH Jordans… oh, I think that’s the winner… give away UH Team only Jordan gear in a raffle to those who arrive on time…

Then give the raffle away at the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half and they have to claim it at FC.

teams are still gonna ā€œget upā€ for us but the perks are we have way more chances to mask up a questionable loss with a big 12 schedule plus a mini-slump isn’t going to plummet our seeding now lol

weird. Here’s what mine said:

Game days don’t always play nicely with work schedules — but your traditions still matter. Winning at home starts with maintaining Coog Nation’s pregame and during game rituals. Consider this your friendly, official permission slip and discount code.

Dear Fine Alcohol Vendor.

Please provide Mr. Timmy Chan with a steep discount on UH branded Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Our team, and indeed Our City, relies on him drinking this before and during games to emerge from extended offensive droughts.

We need Fertitta Center packed and ready.

We all know, and our Coaches know, that UCF is a really good team.

Having said that…is this a close game, or not a close game?

In our past 5 games we are scoring 84 per game, and allowing 67.

As long as we don’t make the same mistake as Tech and Kansas who took UCF lightly.
