Aj does not play very good defense in my opinion. Looks like a lot of standing around and laziness on defense. I’ve only watched a few games though, so I could be wrong

Why does BYU come out so flat in the first half? It feels they are always digging themselves out of the hole in the second half. Hopefully we can take full advantage of that.

The higher altitude is always a concern. I am sure the staff and veteran players who played in Provo before can tell the newbies what to expect. UH has depth to substitute if a player gets winded, which is not uncommon.
Can you elaborate on this? These are the types of cryptic commentary that elevate board discussion.
In regards to BYU lemme tell you a story: I was at the BYU game back in 2015 (I think) and I was sitting way up in the corner. There was this family (man and his beautiful blonde wife and three kids) next to us. Great people. Very complimentary when UH did something good. Respectful the whole game. On a play late in the 3rd quarter their QB threw over the head of the running back on 3rd down. This guy raises his arms to the Heavens and just says, “FUUUUUUUUUU#!”

You ever hear the phrase “puttin on airs”? Enough said.
At the very least Young doesn’t have coach speak and has called Houston out several times as the team he’s “tired of hearing about” and wants to beat. (I think to some degree this is Houston fans not being used to being the chased)
But he allegedly (and I believe it) has an air of arrogance about him when he walks in big 12 meetings because he was in the nba and the nba is blah blah blah…
Basically too confident/arrogant for not accomplishing anything.
As for the rest of your comment, I love traveling to football games. Hope your interactions always go well. I always worry about BYU’s yahoos and making bad impressions

Kelvin Sampson coached 5 years in the NBA…
I remember when the Coogs hired him he had to leave the Rockets before the first round playoff series against the Blazers and the Rockets defense got significantly worse.

Also, while talking about that… Sampson makes sense to me as a college coach. Grit. Hard work. Xs and Os. Defense.
None of those matter in the nba
