The fact that Gonzaga and Illinois are both the same seed is absolutely ridiculous. We gotta beat good teams to get to the championship but Illinois is probably the 6th best team in the entire tournament and it’s insane that we have to play them now while Purdue as a 2 seed got to play one of two absolute bums in UT or Gonzaga.

Illinois is copy of Arizona. The advantage for us is we know how they will play from our Arizona experience but they do not have the same experience of us. Having said that, it will be a battle and we win a very close game.

I don’t think they’re really that similar. Illinois shoots a ton more 3s than Arizona, and their perimeter defense isn’t nearly as good as Arizona’s. Arizona’s bigs are more athletic and better around the basket than Illiinois, but those dudes are tall, so they get some rebounds, and they’ll block shots.
How well we shoot and defend the 3 will probably tell the story.

even had the committee continued to not give af about conference tourneys then they’d still be a 3 but in the east the order of 8-10 ends up being sparty, illionis, purdue
though i thought it was pretty obvious gonzaga and virginia were 3s only because everyone else around them fumbled the bag

Good thing we had a crap game from 3, that means we’re due for a hot one. And we’ll need it vs this team. Other major factor is how they handle our defense. They’ve never faced anything like it so I’m optimistic that it’ll really throw them off their game. Tough matchup but should be a good game.
