From my 2nd weekend experience over the past few years of attending, this is par the course. The high seed is usually the later match.

my calling bs detector says texas got the prime slot for the houston area and coogs got the later game.
we would gave been the early game had vcu won but it makes no sense to have the game between programs just happy to be there be the late game over a game between 2 of the best teams since the covid year lol

I think the 9 pm start works better for Houstonians.
Trying to get to a 6:30 pm game in Houston is not fun. I’ll gladly deal with a late night to avoid the headaches of trying to get downtown, parked and into seats by 6:30 pm.

It’s interesting the two top seeds left in Thursday’s Round of 16 games play the nightcap, but the two top seeds in Friday’s games play the first game. I guess the DC crew is the crew for the Final Four too? But I kind of feel like the announcing crew in Houston is the #2 overall crew? Hummel and Van Gundy were excellent calling the St. John’s/Kansas game yesterday.
