Game 38: Tennessee vs Houston; Sunday (W 69-50)

for some reason this team just does enough to win, a lot of times it’s not convincingly and we manage not to play a full 40 minutes but we still win.

Not sure if it will eventually bite us or it’s just our makeup but one thing is for sure, it gives us fans serious anxiety! hahaha smh.

Tennessee will be our toughest test so far. They are used to playing the way we play, but I can’t honestly say I’d rather be in another region facing Duke, Auburn or Florida (or Alabama, for that matter). Usually it is necessary to beat great teams just to get to a Final Four, and that’s certainly the case this year. Maybe we’ll shoot lights out and get some breaks. Whatever happens it’s great to be playing this late in the tournament!

Clever.

They are named the "Volunteers " because Tenneseans helped with the Texas Revolution, almost acting as our American state sponsor and also “volunteered” to help in many other wars.

Well…if we do make it this year, nobody is going to say we had an easy path.

This was a game that we are built for. Didn’t play great and won. Go Coogs!

There were late games Thursday night too.

Make sure they check Vols fans for mustard bottles come Sunday.

They are known to throw things on bad calls.

But the games today don’t start at 1:20p, they start at 5:09p amd 7:49p

Always been like that for Saturday vs Sunday gms. Saturday nite games – prime time as it’s non work day next day for most folks in workforce.

NFL does the same in Playoffs when they have 2 gms ea on Sat & Sunday. Saturday gms will start late afternoon n then evening gm. Sunday is like 1:00, then 4:30.

Haha, who’s gonna tell him that we haven’t lost by double digits all season? Actually we only have one loss in regulation all season. They have 2 losses of 10 or more including a 30 point throttle from Florida, oof. Not saying they can’t win but a double digit win is unlikely

First paragraph is not all wrong. We do shoot the 3 well, and we don’t have a notable amount of size at least on paper (Jojo and JWan play bigger than their size lets on). But it’s not all right either. “All we do right” is shoot the 3? Has this person never heard of defense?

And the second paragraph, good mother of effing eff. If there is one thing about this team that distinguishes them, it’s resilience. They have been punched many many times by B12 teams and have always bounced back.

Here’s what I can conclude: This poster has seen us play one game all year, vs Purdue. That game was not great and would leave me underwhelmed if it’s all I had seen. But the last time I checked, that game was over and not at all representative of this team throughout the year.

This is just one underinformed fan, but I hope all the organization takes this view. I love being underrated.

And NOT ONE of our Big12 opponents thought of that!

It’s not the time as much as the turnaround.

We’re gonna find out the truth soon. I think this is gonna be like the year the Coogs played the Ben Mathurin Zona team.

A lot of people hyping up the other team because of the conference they played in. Blah blah blah. A poor shooting and sloppy game vs Purdue might be Tennessee’s worst nightmare. I bet Sampson will have the boys ready.
