Just got to my office. During our morning teams meeting, some coworker, doesn’t have a dog in the fight said,“how does everyone feel about that cooper Flagg foul?”

I said “I mean they choked away a 14 point lead, that’s on Duke”

It went silent

then she private messages me “real defensive there my friend, I asked about the foul and you talked about the lead loss”

Pesik and Jayme Hollingsworth give you all you need to know on the best breakdown on the game.

I like Jay Bilas’ analysis, but he is picking Florida, so I have demoted him.

lol why bring up the foul if not to excuse the loss or insinuate they were cheated?

If you can even call it a choke! You have to play Houston at a high intensity for all 40 minutes. I chalk it up to elite defense, experience, and coaching.

Not to mention a couple fouls that should’ve had Jojo shooting some FTs too.

Exactly.

If she were a Duke fan or even a big college basketball fan than I would have entertained her comment a little more.

But she just browsed social media and saw it trending and felt like throwing it in our meeting. Everyone knows I’m a UH grad and our boss is a Coog.

I’m too amped up today lol I ain’t playing around.

Ah well. The Coogs can shut all the haters and casuals up tonight. Go Coogs!

I can help with that.

Coogs will win.

Yeah, I know that feeling

The wild thing is that assuming Duke gets the rebound on a missed free throw, fouling Roberts for a 1-and-1 was probably one of the best things Duke could have done to manage their lead. He’s a 64% free throw shooter; that means there’s a 36% chance they get the ball back with the lead, a 23% chance they get it back with the score tied, and a 0% chance of the Coogs draining the rest of the clock on that possession and getting a basket to win. In the absolute worst-case scenario there (which is actually the one that played out) they get a shot to take the lead, and then if that’s missed, they can foul again and get the ball back with another shot to tie or take the lead.

NONE Remember it was almighty Duke supposed to win.

Pass it on to her it’s pretty CS to bring up one play when the game lasts 40 minutes. Houston BEAT Duke.

The correct response is “I feel GREAT about it.”

Damm, can’t help it but I’m nervous. Guess its the past that’s haunting me, I remember a North Carolina game where they wern’t supposed to even be in the same stadium with the coogs. That was then though, and now with CKS I have a much brighter outlook. Look out Mr. J. Daniels.

Have faith. I have a friend who is in sales. He likes ‘No’. He likes ‘no’ because the more Nos he gets he gets closer to ‘Yes’. Maybe its our ‘yes’ day?
