We have to stay humble and focused. One possession at a time. We can do this but Florida didnât run off 11 straight and 17 of the last 18 including winning the SEC tournament by not being a really really good squad that can humble us real quick. We as the fans can think about 1983 and it is our time or whatever but our players and coaches need to focus on the here and now and I trust they will.
Everyone who knows me will tell you I donât watch UH basketball games. Iâll see every minute of football, but I get entirely too nervous watching basketball. I have a simple system where I check the score on an app, with my next check in determined by how weâre doing.
Wife is mad we arenât watching tonight, but I didnât come this far to mess it up now. Told her if we are up by 10 with less than 10 seconds to play I will think about it.
Georgetown didnât bother me. They whipped our butts. North Carolina beat us with Rob Williams hung over and puking in a trash can. I went to both of those-you are correct on both counts. Patrick Ewing killed us at Seattle, and Williams went 0-10 from the field in New Orleans, the top(?) scorer of the league all season. Misery definition took on a whole new meaning for me.
whats everyone doing to kill time at work today asking for a friend.
Not sure how I am supposed to get work done today.
im seriously considering talking to the CEO and telling him in taking a âmental healthâ afternoon.
weâll see how the morning goes.
Thankfully I had a meeting scheduled in SA on Tuesday 10 AM already. Travel/hotel are covered. So getting on the road soon!
The problem will be what shape will I be in tomorrow morning for the customer meeting. I mean, I get a hangover brain dead celebratory, pass right!??
Iâm âworkingâ remotely this morning from SA. Iâm probably gonna become a ghost at 3pm
A blast from the pastâŠ
I was flipping channels on the telly and on Foxâs local morning program Sports segment, Nate Griffin interviewed former UH guards Ken Ciolli and Jim Perry. Ken started as PG as a freshman and played on some great teams in the mid 1970s, and Jim Perry was a 12th man off the bench and the original Ryan Elvin âWe want Perryâ. He was also Otis Birdsongâs roommate. He still sports a mustache.
will there be any events or shoot arounds televised today?
im looking to plug into any and all coverage of the final / the Coogs
Florida has shown a lot of grit, winning wars with UConn and two schools who beat us (Tech and Auburn).
But theyâve been beaten 10% of the time in regulation, and blown out once.
Weâve never been blown out, and only lost once in regulation. Weâre pretty gritty too.
Should be a great game. I assume we will try to shut down their star guard and make the others make shots. Weâll see how doable that is.
We are the Overall 3 seed and Florida is Overall 4 seed. I believe that makes us Home Team and we may be white.
Anyone find a good unbiased preview of the game?
I encourage you to read @pesik âs analysis. Always very informative.
Good morning from a brisk San Antonio. What a great day to win a natty. #GoCoogs
Iâm hoping half the office leaves by 3pm so I can head out earlier⊠but Iâm gone at 4pm.
I need to get home and prepare myself.
Iâm so nervous, please just win baby
Here is Parrish annd Norlander. They are both picking the Coogs but it at least comes from ball knowledge and not stupid takes like Tim Doyle.
The last time we had a final where one team averaged 85+ and the other team yielded less than 60?
In 1974, the high-flying Wolfpack of NC St led by David Thompson beat Al McGuireâs defense-minded Marquette Warriors 74-64.
