Game day food

Last week, I ate Rice, for obvious reasons. Couldn’t eat it by itself. That would be game-day sacrilege, so I also braised some country ribs. It was really good. For tonight’s game, it’s gonna be baked Spaghetti, because I don’t have any Bison Meat. Check that, maybe I do? If I don’t, the Spaghetti will have to do. Why? Because it’s AWESOME. I’d like to hear what the rest of you are having… whether you’re cooking at home, or taking advantage of the great restaurants in Houston, or tailgating…

I have an elk roast going now, but I have a buffalo roast. Definitely should have done the buffalo roast.

Making my own buffalo wings in a little while. Last week was a rotisserie chicken with wild rice.

Two weeks to figure out how to do something beaver themed that is still family friendly…

Update: wife rolled her eyes, then said the obvious answer is Buc-ees Beaver Nuggets. I knew I married up.

Check out this site. It’s a local hole in the wall restaurant. Pretty tasty :bison: burgers.

You can get ground bison at all the local grocery stores. Love it in pasta bolognese.

Do you actually live in Utah? If so, highly jealous of western hunting.

I do! I used to live about an hour and a half from Vegas in the south west corner of Utah, now I live in the west desert of northern Utah.

My brother is the big hunter in my family

Settled on Beef and Pasta. Didn’t have buffalo/bison. It’s ground beef with sautéed (diced) Ancho Chilis, and a variety of herbs/spices, Alfredo sauce, sour cream, mixed in with Pasta, and lots of Cheese. Muenster, Habanero Cheddar, Colby, and Mozzarella.it’s all prepped and Baking now, with some added cheese on top. > comfort food.

That’s awesome. I’d love to have a freezer stocked with elk! Texas deer will have to do, though

My brother has half an elk from last year in his fridge and his wife just got another elk. They also have a tag for Pronghorn and feel really good about getting one.

So I get the rest of the first elk.

He and I are trying to start an elk ranch out here. Nothing big, but a few head anyways. We have the land, but are working on the next steps.

This pronghorn jumped in front of us a while back. They are pretty incredible animals.

I thought this was about the concessions. The missus and I arrived at the beginning of the second quarter. We plopped down in our seats long enough to get acclimatized, then I went downstairs for food. Navigating my way was difficult because every single kiosk had a line all the way to the stands. The shortest one was for hot dogs. That’s really all I wanted, so queued up.

Dayum. How long does it take to slap a weenie on a bun? I was there most of the quarter. Someone needs to hire more employees.
