GAME THREAD: #2 Houston (24-3) at #11 Baylor (19-7) 2/24 CBS (W 82-76)

I don’t think Wilson/Dunn cost us much. We needed their minutes. Both had good moments in the game that made a difference.

I feel like staying with 2 bigs when Baylor went smaller was what helped them come back. Francis was a bit slow and can’t be depended on to get out to the outside shooters. Not blaming him. Just got exploited on that. Ramon would have been helpful in those situations.

Not a lock for a 1 yet you have to feel good about the chance of us going at least 2-2 in our last 4 to wrap it up especially after beating Iowa State and Baylor for 2 “Q1A” wins so late in the season

We had to go big because Walker was not able to play in this game due to injury

I know we won but it does concern me that we are up 17 at the half and almost lost in regulation. Good teams overcome this type of thing and we pulled out the W.

If I was Baylor, I’d sue whoever designed where to put the camera at their new arena.

That is basketball and teams go on runs. Baylor is a good team and have to know at home they will go on a run, plus we all know the refs will change the way they are calling the game in second half if a big lead to try to get score closer as well

Sharp fell, he had no chance.

And look at UCONN. They lost by 19 to #15. Sure, we gave up a big run, but we still beat #11.

I’d be more concerned if it wasn’t a home game for the #11 team in the country who just lost a game they should have won on the road. I was expecting it to be a close one, the 1st half was a surprise.

The best part is we don’t need him to score all the time to win

something very subtle happened this game which i kinda love

sharp was demanding the ball, and actually got upset and called it out when they didnt get it to him open… some poeple might see that a negative…but that is a big shift to me that he is taking ownership of this team and putting a big burden of winning on himself… prior he just shot the ball whenever he wa given the ball and just accepted whatever amount he was given… he was also driving way more

hes taken that step of moving from " i dont want to be the reason we lose, and will stay within the bounds of whats given" (which is a mentality a few other guys still have) to "i will be part of the reason this team wins "

Sharp is shining on both sides of the ball imo

Sharp is coming along. The other guys can see him on film and it’s “uh-oh”.

You’re right. That’s what makes this win even more impressive!

our defense was mediocre the 2nd half. yeah they were hot but we were slow. it shouldn’t have went to OT even if our offense was disappearing throughout the 2nd half.

maybe the saying is true elite offenses always beat elite defenses and maybe Baylor’s offense was just elite in the 2nd half.

We did show resilience though and I’m proud about that. We got the W but there are some teaching moments in that 2nd half.

We don’t want teams to say “ok, stop this guy and we win.”

i hate to be the guy that’s negative when everyone is celebrating but roberts was getting cooked on the perimeter defense, he has struggle some defending on the 3pt line this year. he has to improve in that area

Big shout out to Francis on offense and defense. He’s even making more than dunks.

I could be mistaken, but Roberts defending the 3 point line may not be a priority for UH

Baylor definitely got quite a few uncontested 3’s and were hitting them.
