they had a freshmen making crazy threes, that wasnt onn our scouting report
with lots of players in foul trouble in the end


imo this is like trying to judge an NBA team on who won the 1st game of a 7 game playoff series

This game showed that there is zero reason that Mylik or Ramon should be ahead of Mercy.

Literally had offense. Our D wasnt great, we couldnt switch and stop broome and the fish.

And here’s Pearland crawling out of his hole. 69 points isn’t enough offense for you? Auburn is a good team. This is a good early season game. Sampson gets a chance to see what works and what doesn’t against top notch competition.

He is a pre-season 3rd team AA. So he’s not some scrub player. The frosh was a McDonald’s AA. They’re a good team They’re picked to finish second in the SEC by many

Auburn will be one of the best defensive teams we play all season. Maybe the best.

Defense couldn’t clamp down and put the game out of reach when we went up 5 late in the second half like they usually do.

@pesik i thought our guard ball pressure was not good.

Obviously, these are very good Auburn guards.

But all 3 guards, Uzan, Sharp, Cryer. None can ball pressure

Not their game. That’s a flaw, compared to last yrs defense

this is a good reason to build up mercy as soon as possible, not that he hsould have been ahead of ramon/mylik this game

Walker and Wilson did not show.

I mean potayto, potahto. Our offense didn’t score when we needed to. Defense definitely had some lapses but our team should be capable of scoring more. See too many timid shots.

Yeah. I probably worded it wrong.

But think of Mercy’s ceiling. Even this year. This game proved, like you said, we need to build Mercy up. There should be zero reason for Ramon or Mylik to be ahead of him.
