Good to have two extra days for Rice. A rivalry game where Rice always plays out of their mind and a tough offense to control.

I think the talent is good, but developing a new line every year with portal players is probably not a great idea.
Willie has let it be known that he will continue to hit the high school ranks, but it takes even more time to groom those youngsters into playersā¦

I think Weigman performed fine but at times I didnāt think he released the ball quick enough and he looks a little antsy when the pass rush is coming.
That said, the OL will have to get better if we expect to win six gamesā¦

A little adrenaline on the first pass, a little touch and more air and it is a TD. Kozoil is going to be a great target for him and the TD to Thomas was spot on.

Weigman looked competent but average. But I think some of that impression is due to the play calling. It looked like the plays were very simple, which doesnāt really give the QB a chance to show off.

Play calling/schemes looked to be the same as last year. Doesnāt bode well for this year.

Iām fine with the performances of the defense, the punter and the kicker. The offenseā¦not so much. Play calling was dull overall. Is CWF saving better plays for the better teams and not providing any film yet since he felt we were going to win anyway? Past Cougar teams would have laid 60 on that Lumberjack team.

Unfortunately, we may need to listen to them. That is one crew who are experts at watching sucky football teams.

I agree on the OL. Couldnāt handle outside rush on some drives.Conner was flushed out of the pocket multiple times. Also didnāt get much push against SFA on short yardage, run game.Again this is SFA We better get better quick. B12 fronts will be much better than SFA
To finish above 500 will be very difficult unless OL sharpens up
