I hope so!!!
With Mews at PR and Massey at KR, our return game is going to be DEADLY!!!
Taller CBs and shorter interior linemen. This makes sense from a coverage ability and leverage perspective.
At least this thread on point in what the forum is about and not some topic about who the real UT is in the SEC.
Are game week press conferences on Monday or Tuesday?
I remember people saying that about UCLA when they beat us as our team was the one that wore down. You canât count on weather variations.
This game is giving similar impressions as the UTSA 2022 game. Might come down to who has the ball last.
UCLA beat us at Robertson? I donât remember that.
I remember. Cade McCown was QB. He complained about the Robertson sprinkler heads on the field, if memory serves me correctly.
UCLA absolutely CRUSHED us one year in the 90s.
In the 90âsâŠ.I wasnât watching UH football back then and also they sucked back then.
On Sept 9, 1998 UCLA beat UH 42-24 in Robertson Stadium.
Oct 4, 1998 in the Rose Bowl stadium, UCLA won 66-10.
Yeah, that was AWFUL!!!
I attended the 66-10 game with a Fraternity brother. We were all decked out in our Cougar hats and shirts. Ryan Monceaux also was there.
The Rose Bowl Stadium is awesome! Glad that we went.
The game was in 1997.
UH couldnât beat Rice last year.
The thing Iâm most looking forward to⊠seeing our team play TWO halves of football each week. We didnât do much of that under Holgorsen.
This ainât last year⊠LFG COOGS!!!
As someone who admittedly canât recall watching a UNLV football game, Iâm looking forward to seeing their Go-Go offense in action outside of highlights. I know a bunch of us were interested in Brennan Marion to add to our staff and their offense is the primary reason.
Also of note, CWF said to take the recently released depth chart with a grain of salt. He plans on playing a lot of different guys for the first 3 games to see who will stand out in real games instead of just practice.
One thing everyone has noticed regarding the depth chart is the TE position. York is noted as the starter over the more hyped Carr. York has apparently stood out a bunch during practice as perhaps heâs a better blocker whereas Carr is more of a playmaker. From the sound of it though, weâll be running a lot of 2 TE sets, so both will see plenty of the field.
Other observation is the WR depth. Donât see Koby Young or JayShon Ridgle anywhere. Both were pretty hyped. It sounds like we have a very good WR room though and those two should see the field at various points. Some more dependable vets will get the starts though, like Manjack and Johnson. Transfer Mekhi Mews is listed as well, but I think the surprise is Marquis Shoulders and Devan Williams. A deeper dive into the depth chart makes it very clear that experience is valued, at least during this transition into the CWF era. That should win us some games and keep us from the bottom of the BigXII standings. Eventually you get guys will see the field.
