If the guys expected a Barry Odom led team that won their conference to be bad, they should pack their bags because they didn’t watch film. Coaches too.

Odom’s O is fun to watch for a run heavy O. But you better have a long list of running QBs because they will go through them.
It’s almost option like. And QBs will get hurt.
you’re right. first game of the season and this happens. CWF knew this team and he kind of prepared us for the reality. He std that he would play a lot of different players at the beginning of the season. He was tempering our expectations.

They are a running team. 46 rushes. 4 backs with multiple carries averaging 4 yards or more. Hopefully that’s where Fritz is taking us. I’d love to see 50 rushes per game. That’s how you wear down and crush a defense. But we need a better front 5. And probably a more springy QB.

Both close 3 point losses. Not empty carries.
Sluka @ 200 rushing at Army w a 40+ yarder.
@ 140 rushing at BC w a 35 yarder. Averaged & 7.1 yards.
BC HC is Packers DC now. 140 vs them is real.
330 yards in 1 game last season.
After what we saw vs UH. Sluka may just get his yards regardless of level.
Hardest game ever to watch as a UH fan ? Probably.

The two hardest games for me were at Miami and at Illinois during Jenkins. Completely different kinds of losses but we were expected to be much better. Embarrassed on national TV both times when NTV meant one of five games for the whole day.

Kind sir, what happened to us was a thrashing… UNLV did not get thrashed, they at least scored more than 20 points in that game
I still think it was a dumb effing schedule, but assuming it got scheduled during Dana’s tenure

The absolute worst game ive been to. Seen two unlv guys by the bus on the way out. Told them they kicked our asses and wished em a safe trip home.

I wouldn’t bother. Besides a bad outcome it was really boring. We did nothing outside of the D making a few stops. If UNLV was solid they’d have won by 40.
You guys are lucky you missed both 0-11 under Dimel and 1-10 under Helton.
Also, the 1991 massacres by both Miami and what ultimately proved to be a .500 Illinois team on national TV. That season, we went from the pre-season cover of the SI college football and a Top Ten ranking to 4-7.
