I don’t know what it is but our red just never looks good with black pants…
You guys really don’t remember when we unexpectedly smoked ECU on the road in these unis a few years ago? Tune had that sweet TD throw on the run to Golden. Hopefully the same thing happens again lol
Their roster on paper is the best in the Big 12. They’re a very talented team regardless of their struggles this year. We will need our A+ game to win this one.
This technique works surprisingly well. It’s worked wonders for Kansas and ISU for the better part of 100 years.
November is most merciful to those who can’t play with the misshapen ball.
Yes, TCU is the one team in the REMAINING Big 12 (not the new additions) that can realistically get into the top 20-30ish range in recruiting. Baylor and OSU sort of can if the stars align just right.
The best part about the Big 12 post UT/OU is that doesn’t really mean jack diddly. You will come to see from those 3 that it’s consistently a wash on gameday with KSU, ISU, WVU, TTU in terms of talent on the field. This league is dominated by old rosters, continuity, development, coaching, roster fits, and underrecruited studs that come out of nowhere.
TCU is pretty much an inversion of ISU in terms of style of play and culture, not necessarily in a bad way… just very different. Don’t misinterpret what I’m trying to say here, I respect the heck of out TCU. Just food for thought for UH going foward in what your rebuild should look like:
I love to watch Josh Hoover TCU’s offense work. That said, I want to see CWF follow the tried and true blueprint and turn UH into a chip-on-the-shoulder overlooked Texas talent development factory. Go back and watch the highlights of TCU’s game in Ames last year since you have some feel for both teams now. It was a bloodbath.
its game day…
Maybe for the time being this will have to be our model. It has for a long time. I think a realistic goal is to annually have at least double the 4 stars that we currently have. I think if we can capture momentum with Henderson his first year, then we should see a huge upswing in those quality of guys.
That is the formula. Those uniforms for _CU opponents.
For sure man. I can’t say that if my school was located smack dab in a hot bed of talent in all directions like Houston is, I wouldn’t start counting stars myself. So by no means am I saying don’t try to swing for the fences.
All I’m saying is that it’s not the end of the world if you can’t go stride for the stride on the recruiting trail with TCU or even Baylor and OSU. I think CWF is the perfect kind of coach to postion for where you are now, IMHO.
You’re not going to find many Big 12 fans that are big fans of Dana Holgersen. I don’t think he can build to save his life. You don’t need a hot shot X’s and O’s guy with an ego that’s always going to try to jam a square peg into a round hole like he always does. You need an experienced leader like CWF who has seen it all who can lay a stable foundation on defense and adapt to what he has as it comes.
He was still a student last time we had a meaningful TD
It’s game day! Go Coogs!
This is the DANA HOLGORSEN TAINT BOWL.
Whichever team is less tainted by Dana wins.
I didn’t know the series was tied 13-13.
I hope we don’t fall behind. I think we still lead over Baylor and somehow tech but tech has our number last SIX meetings
A win against TCU could change the entire trajectory of the season. UH had new coaches and offensive and defensive systems this year, took their lumps in the first 5 games, getting the systems installed and letting the players get experience and confidence, and the TCU game might just be the game where UH puts it together.
After the TCU game, I am hoping to say “Where was this all year?”
Honestly, if they continue to trot out QB1 & QB2, I don’t see any reason for this optimism. However, if they make a true commitment to QB3, I believe it may be possible.
Go Coogs!
