Someone please correct me, but we have not had gameday in Houston since we played UCF in the American…correct? (in fact that is the only gameday)

We have been to 5 straight sweet 16s, been #1 several times in the last couple of years, won the BIG XII last year and no gameday???

A little bias against, you say??!!

Correct. They should have been at UH last year for UH Kansas, but decided they needed to go to Duke UNc for the 42nd time.

In the last 3 years they have gone to a total of 3 Big12 games, all three KU/Baylor games.

FCC regulations in sports:

  • All Yankees-Red Sox Games must be nationally televised
  • All Michigan-Ohio State games must have gameday.
  • All UNC-Duke games must have gameday.
  • At the beginning of every college football season, “Texas is back!” must be stated ad nauseum.

Regardless of record or national impact.

And they’re doing to Duke-UNC this week. They are like robots. Think outside the box a bit, jesus.

I look at our schedule or the rest of the year. I see two games where we might be involved, but neither is at FC:
2/15 @ Arizona
3/8 @ Baylor (sorry my bad, Duke @ UNC that day)
Maybe: 3/1 vs Cincinnati

Missed that one. That should be a gameday. Top-10 showdown. 3/22. And, it’s an ESPN game.

They don’t like Houston for some reason, maybe we don’t have the national following like those other schools?? Not sure why they don’t come

I was thinking about this after we beat Kansas and thought maybe, just maybe, we would get gameday against TTU. and then I saw they are doing the Duke- unranked UNC game (shock). Our next best chance would be ISU on 2/22.

I’m just happy if we’re on a regular TV channel instead of ESPN+

Jay Bilas has always been fair and complementary of UH. Andraya Carter picked UH in her final four. I think Seth Greenberg is okay, although I can’t get out of my head how he stomped around and acted like a petulant child in Hofheinz Pavillion when he coached South Florida. Jay Williams is meh.

The ESPN suits make the decision on ESPN Gameday, the talent just goes where they are told.

I’ll say that the last time Gameday came to UH, the commentators were getting insulted by a few students that obviously pregamed the night before on through the morning. I’m not talking heckling, but insulting, the type where the rest of the audience gasps. Doubt it’s the reason that the show hasn’t returned, but I can’t say I’m surprised.

The producers remember those incidents. Screaming obscenities or insults never wins the game.
