GameDay Thread: 2023 Texas High School State Football Championship Games

Hi All,

Not sure if there’s a thread for this already, if so let me know and I can delete, but I’m nearly to Arlington now with my dad and we’re going to watch the state games today

Obviously we’re rooting for North Shore & their HC (Former Coog) but wanted to see if we could get a game day thread going where everyone can talk about the games and some possible recruits to target since it seems like WF (more so than Dana) is putting an emphasis on recruiting Texas

If you happen to be at the stadium and would like to sit with some fellow coogs, let us know!

My boy Doug Wheeler has won a bazillion titles at Aledo HS.

All they do is win every year!

Bally Sports is the only way to watch all the State Championship games today I believe

Fubo has a 7 day free trial, and they carry the NS game and other state games

I would cancel it first thing tonight after the games are done, I did this last year

I just signed up for the free trial. I had been sick so missed the earlier games. I was also a bit disinterested when my team lost last week. Pulling for PNG, NS, and Humble Summer Creek. Former classmate of mine’s cousin is NS qb.

Key for North Shore is diversity on offense. The ground and pound will not be effective against D-ville. Kaleb Bailey needs to spread the ball around.

Go NS and give Gaston his first championship.

Channel 637 Xfinity carries all 12 Championship games. I’ll be watching North Shore (69) and my brother (77) and SIL (77) parents of a former NS cheerleader are up at the game. Where are your tickets Eastside? Go Coogs beat Ags! Go Mustangs! Both should be good games.

I saw a North Shore alum at the Toyota Center doubleheader. I meant to ask him why he wasn’t in Arlington but he got too far away.

Our streaming service does not carry Bally Sports so we decided to just purchase a one month subscription to Bally Sports app and turned off the auto renew. It was $19.95 + tax, so roughly $1.80 per game if you watched all of them.

Update: Twice the network has stopped broadcasting on Roku in the middle of two seperate games so I called Roku and got a refund for my subscription.

Thanks , I might just do a quick fubo trial. Surprised a high profile game like TX state champ finals is not on ESPN or a major network.

His 2nd year as a HC and his 2nd title appearance. His 1st state title.

So happy my PN-G fellas pulled it off. I was a senior at PN-G last time they won a state title. (and I’m old so it’s been awhile!) South Oak Cliff is a great team, and beating them is a great accomplishment.

Congratulations PNG. Desoto is elite but Summer Creek looks awful. Kind of like we did 1st quarter vs Rice.
