So what do we have to do to shut down Leavitt?
Change up that soft ass coverage we called against Zona. Idk how many times I saw DBs giving 10 yards off the line at the snap.
And the DL has to create pressure, obviously.
Oh yeah… and tackle at the point of reception… not 10 yards after…

Well, we can focus more on rushing the QB and pass coverage. Fifita was a constant danger to scramble or run and we had to deal with that. Leavitt isnt going to run for a 100 yards against you and constantly scramble and break tackles, but ASU is very talented, so it will be a challenge.

I saw so many Tech DBs give up that deep ball when Leavitt rolled out the pocket.
Definitely have to force him to stay in the pocket.

This is one of those games that reminds me how little we actually know. How good is ASU, really? They haven’t blown the doors off anyone, but they did beat TCU and Baylor and Tech. (Expect them to do some chirping about being Texas State Champions if they win this week.) But also they got run out of the freaking building against Utah, but that was with their backup QB. They lost to MSU, who hasn’t won an SEC game yet this year.
Since nobody’s mentioned it yet, the spread is ASU -8.5, which feels fair.
Then by all means…we need to carry OUR STATE’S HONOR into the desert this weekend, and show them up!

I think saying we need a miracle is a bit strong but it is going to be a tough one. Be interesting to see how much we have grown since the TT game.
This is an opportunity game!
9 games into the season there’s not a lot of variation in where we should be.
7 games we should win to 2 games we shouldn’t win.
The last three happen to be the tossups.
