GAMEDAY THREAD: TCU @ Houston | 3PM CST | FOX

It’s ok. Baylor and the bowl game are away games and we’ll finish 10-3 :sunglasses:

not kicking a field goal in the first half and taking the 3pts rather than go for it on 4th down sucked.

taking a knee to run the clock out at the end of the half sucked (did the same against West Virginia…)

missing (2) field goals sucked.

lets beat Baylor

The pass was absolutely terrible. The 7’0 receiver was given no chance to go up over the 5’0 cornerback.

I see Wegman starting next year and eventually losing his job just like Donovan did.

Unless he goes into the laboratory over the summer and comes back and doesn’t have these games where it feels like he just can’t get the ball to the receivers and give them an actual chance to catch it.

I’m sick thinking about that 4th and 1. I didn’t expect a super great year but that was below anything I’ve ever seen. 45 seconds. We move the ball at the end of the game, why not the half? Dang. Besides that, I had a great time, the music and the fireworks were outstanding. They tried with the traffic, I didn’t go early enough and paid the price. You have to shoot to be in your seat an hour before kick. Off to Vegas. :grinning:

Thanks Mark!

This is on us. Not us on this board, but us as a fanbase. We have to continue to get the students out, and build on the small improvements that make each game an event. Fireworks, etc. are relatively cheap. Small details can make a big difference.

I know “it shouldn’t matter”, but players are human beings. It HAS to be disappointing to run out to a half empty stadium. I am convinced that this is partly (not solely) responsible for our slow starts at home. Football is an emotional game at its core.

Anybody notice the betting line flipped from Hou-1.5 to TCU -1.5 right before game time? 3 pt swing- something was fishy.

You guys that are flipping on our Qb thinking the savior is a high school kid are the reason why divorce rates are so high. W throwing is off and not sure what it is but the kid is a winner.

Agreed.

I can’t think of a game, this year, where CW had more time than the opposing QB to throw the ball / execute the offense.

I’m SURE Willie is aware of this fact and things will continue to get better with time.

CW is a stud. A better offensive line will…

  1. Give him more time to go through his progressions, more time to throw, and more time for guys to get open.
  2. Open up bigger holes for our RBs.
  3. Facilitate longer drives and wear down opposing defenses.

I’m very optimistic about KH. He looks the part. He’s tall. He’s fast. He can throw. He can run. His intangibles are off the charts.

But… he hasn’t played a single down of college football.

CW will be here again, for a final year. He will do even better with a better o-line. And… KH will have the opportunity to take this team to the next level.

This program is rebuilding, improving, headed in the right direction, at a pace faster than almost everyone on this MB could have imagined.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. …and ltcoog’s take is SPOT ON.

That said, all you Sunday morning QBs can kiss my a**…

I was anti-DJ, but I gotta admit…it worked. The energy in the building was much better than the previous 5 games.

All 3 losses at home, all 3? Can’t eat their own home cooking?

I feel an 8-5 record is more probable.

In the 4th, there was a lull in the loud music, probably because of an injured TCU player, and my end of the stadium started to chant Let’s Go Cougars, and it spread. This is what happens when you let savvy fans do their thing instead of the non stop music and announcements. It was a crucial time of the game. We knew what to do. Give fans some credit.

If you had told me before the game the Coogs would create 4 turnovers and allow 17 points, I’d say there’s no way they lost.

The good news about Saturday’s loss to TCU is that nobody cares nationally.

I agree more or less with your sentiment. Especially the unproven high schoolercoming in to be a savior immediately. However, where I disagree, is that CW is a winner with only nine wins, that story is still TBD in my humble opinion. Now, if he comes back next year and wins 9 to 10 games…. Then I’ll definitely agree with you.

To add context, I’ll add that I’ve been spoiled with the QBs that came before him in Kolb, case, Greg, king and tune. Those were winners to me. Championships and multi season.

I’m totally amazed why our offense doesn’t run more short yardage slants

CWF is winner, but it took him sometime to build Tulane his first few years were rough there He is a head of schedule here.imo

The Offense generated about 400 yards.

To only score 14 is very strange. Only had 1 turnover.

Gave away 3 FG’s. One we did not attempt. Missed 2.

9 more points wins the game.
