I am going to give D. Smith the benefit of the doubt and state that the jury is still out whether he can be a serviceable QB for UH. UH has eight more games this season. I want to see more efficiency in the execution of the offense. Better decision making, pocket awareness, accuracy, elusiveness to pressure, and wheels faster than the roadrunner cartoon.

What’s really cool is a win by Iowa State would make Iowa State’s Head Coach Matt Campbell the all-time winningest football coach in Iowa State history. We should get some exposure for a few days.

Great Idea! We can be like the Ags who feel the halftime show is full competition–and of course they win 'em all. We could go for best uniforms of the game–maybe we could get a win that way.

Either the O goes completely inept again or go win the game. I don’t want any “progress” or “good try” today, we already did that vs OU. Coming close would mean DS remains the starter and our terrible so far OC pats himself on the back. And it will just be rinse and repeat the whole season. Good try, worst team in football, good try, worst team in football.

I couldn’t begin to tell you how Pro Football Focus derived this score but I think the gist is these CBs have been very good against the pass this year.

In a nutshell, opposing QBs have had no success throwing at the players with 0s. PFF does a lot of analytics for college and pros. They likely are only looking at players with minimum number of snaps played or pass attempts against.
I don’t have a membership but their analysis if often cited by media and analysts. I believe teams use them too.

How many TDs will our offense score against the first team Iowa St defense?
Their first team defense has allowed 2 TDs combined in three games so far. Has allowed 29 points all year.
Our first team offense has scored 1 TD combined against the first team defenses of UNLV, OU and Cincy.
I’ll set the over/under at 0.5 offensive TDs today against their first team defense. Not counting scrub time at the end. And I will take the over.
