UH plays Georgia Southern on September 26, 2026, in Stateboro, GA. Pete Thamel reporting that ex-Texas A&M QB Max Johnson has been named the starting QB for Georgia Southern. Max is the son of ex-NFL QB Brad Johnson.

The Georgia Southern game just got more interesting.

As a reminder, Georgia Southern HC is former Coog QB, Clay Helton.

Why is it more interesting?

Because their starting QB used to play at A&M?

He’s on his FOURTH school and hasn’t played well since 2022….

He’s not scaring anyone , let alone a Willie Fritz coached team.

Max couldnt get on the field at LSU, couldn’t stay on the field at Aggy or North Carolina

But it’ll be different now that he finally got on the field at a Sun Belt school.

Well… hopefully, he can have his Eagles undefeated, with a win over Clemson, going into week 4 against the mighty Houston Cougars… but I HIGHLY doubt it…

A couple of reasons:

  1. It is Georgia Southern and I have heard of their starting QB.
  2. The starting QB has played on 3 P4 teams. Johnson is running out of time to prove he belongs. Don’t make that game against UH.
