For much of my adult life, my two favorite Taco Bell menu items were the 7-layer burrito and the double decker taco.
They were suddenly discontinued a few years ago.
But NOW, they are back.
I hope it isn’t just for a limited time.

Taco Bell is the one fast food chain I will never eat again. I haven’t had TB since 1993. I actually graduated from UH-Downtown. Unless you left the building (hard to call it a campus back then), your food choices were bad pizza or TB. #neveragain

Taco Bell is one of the best drunk foods known to man.
I’ve always loved the “Run for the Border” with no intestinal distress the weaker stomached tend to get.
That being said, the Enchirito was the best menu item of all time that doesn’t exist anymore. Sometimes a veteran Bell employee will make me one, but without the olive on top, it’s not an Enchirito.

I like Taco Bell. My street cred takes a beating when I admit I love Jack in the Box tacos. Nothing greasier and unhealthy. I haven’t had them in years because of health issues but I loved them. Uh, maybe that is why I had health issues.

Back in the day my to go order was a dozen taco supremes. They were like 79 cents. Now they are close to $3. At that price might as well go to a regular taco place.
I’ve never liked TB nor Taco Cabana
I loved the JIB tacos too. There was so much grease you could see through the taco “shell”. LOL

In High School my buddies would see how many MexiMelts we could eat.
Taco Bell is funny, they keep switching items out and then baxk.
On drunken night a friend got their fries, which i just assumed was a bad choice. It became my staple choice, dipping cheese sauce for the win. Now its like the McRib, i wait for its return.

With the single sour cream packet for each taco… iirc it was 2 for $1… got me through some hard times.
I’ve already enjoyed several of each. Finding the 7 layer as cheap as $2.49 at some locations. Pretty good bargain.

I still crave those. Only eat them if I hate myself that day. Burger King has a similar taco.
JIB tacos are what you get when it’s almost midnight, you are hungry, and you need something cheap, greasy, and fast in the middle of the night.

For instance, why would I want hot lettuce?
Is the grease really supposed to tear through the bag?
Double Decker Taco Supreme with some hot sauce on top is my all time favorite Taco Bell item.

If I’m gonna eat a geasy/fatty taco of any kind…it will be barbacoa on a flour tortilla with chopped onion and cilantro with a Serrano or Habanero hot sauce.
Or perhaps a San Antonio style puffy taco.

I remember in 1995, Dream and Shaq were doing Taco Bell ads for the double decker taco on a two person bicycle.
