Let’s try to discuss without being jerks.

Must be nice to wield that much control

RIP…She was a lovely lady

To me, Gloria was a leader and a key proponent of the women’s lib movement in America beginning back in the 1960’s which I think has ultimately resulted in many liberal women having a detrimental effect on U.S. society, including but not limited to:

(i) rejecting U.S. historically Christian type of family values,
(ii) dramatic increases in free sex, divorce, abortion and fatherless homes,
(iii) lawlessness, yelling at and obstructing members of U.S. law enforcement,
(iv) voting for democratic socialists who want to overthrow the U.S. constitution and our current form of government, and
(v) voting this week to acquit (not convict) a mother who confessed to killing her 3 children.

So to me, the contrast seems to be pretty clear:
Dolly P. - I think that Dolly has had a mostly positive (& non-political) effect on U.S. society, while
Gloria S. - I think that Gloria has had a mostly negative (& political) effect on U.S. society.

R.I.P.
There is a huge difference when it comes to defending women’s rights and defending a political ideology.
You would think defending women’s rights has no party. This was never the case with Mrs. Steinem. She never went after politicians that were with the party she followed. If she did that is a miniscule number.
Title IX and the trans issue is another major point of contention. You would think she of all people would be an advocate for Title IX…nope she changed her stance on that too.

Walked past her home today there is a memorial set up with flowers, cards, the usual and of course a few bras.

:roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

No, I couldn’t make that up.

It’s not a real bra memorial if they weren’t on fire

How many divorces does all this anger and scapegoating of women stem from?

Steinem seemed almost embarrassed her attractiveness overshadowed the women’s liberation message and was uncomfortable with the role the media placed on her.

Perhaps the media anointed her because she was a former Playboy bunny and the other feminist leaders were butt ugly. :sunglasses:

If you lived your life in such a way that women leave their bras, or panties, at your grave (or house) when you die, then you did something right during your life imo…
