Government Run Healthcare

I agree they should untie it from jobs then give that same subsidy to each person with the same rights as non droppable, cover preexisting issues just like the current employer plans do then do group plans per state then employers don’t have to mess with it. McCain proposed this when running but lost but it would solve the issue for all. Irritating issue is why they want it tied to jobs when it has no business in that realm and it would allow workers to move from job to job and or take lesser jobs. Our politicians are to blame along with lobbyist for the healthcare industry but bc they won’t act, we will end up with Medicare for all which is what they deserve for not acting.

McCain wanted this but lost the election

Also employers cover dental and vision which shouldn’t be so. They need to untie all this from the employer’s responsibility like car ins. Etc

I actually do think that providing Medicare at 55 will be good for the economy. There are a lot of people that have the means to retire at 55 but can’t because of health insurance. Those people are clogging up every middle to upper management position in every company and those people are playing defense hoping to milk their jobs as long as they can.

Those people retiring will open those positions to younger more vibrant people.

It is a good idea.

Another good idea is having people below 55 take a physical every year and base their health care premiums on how well they take care of themselves.

If we don’t want a tax paid healthcare system, maybe capitalism can help? Just heard about this story today with Coney Island premature babies. We just need a giant reality show where poor people get medical bills paid or are allowed in the best hospitals for free care. Maybe a hidden camera show? Maybe a collaboration with Impractical Jokers? Who wouldn’t love to see Nick Cannon jump out right before a family breaks down in tears knowing they will be facing crippling debt to tell them they will be covered. Or watch the Impractical Jokers guys do challenges as fake nurses/doctors with patients who can’t afford care. American problems need American solutions!

Is it fair to say that the extremely high cost of higher education (even the private tuition part of the public schools) and the extremely high price of private medical (both monthly insurance premiums and the cost of medical services) is preventing the average American from building generational wealth?

To add insult to injury, the high taxes (both federal and state) and YES Texas has very high property taxes despite no state income tax, is also eroding generational wealth.

The ironic thing is that we were SUPPOSED to be a hybrid capitalistic + socialistic society where both extremes balanced each other out but somehow we’ve managed to only work in the extreme negatives of both concepts.

There is very little competition in the capitalistic portion services (thus driving prices up) and yet the average American is not getting their services covered under the socialistic portion either.

Net result: a society where it is very difficult to build self sufficient generational wealth thus continued reliance on politicians UNLESS you have your OWN game plan to prosper around the system…and sadly few Americans have taken that route.

So they continue to cling to their Far Right or Far Left political agendas with the Jaws of Life because deep down they will never be self sufficient on their own…and politicians are well aware that it is their job to keep them emotionally dependent pawns and they are highly successful on today’s world.

And the cycle of insanity repeats and we are bombarded with Far Right and Far Left social media posts demonizing the other side for having opinions and solutions other than their hypnotized party line lingo.

Higher cost of education? Because we let these institutions do so. There are plenty of successful citizens that are not or have gone to a university. It is highly pompous to suggest that someone to be successful has to go a university.
There are plenty of trade jobs where someone, anyone can eventually become a multi millionaire.
Why should we be a hybrid capitalistic + socialistic society? This country was founded on private enterprise and hard work. This notion of redistributing the wealth has no ends. The end product never works.
We now live in a society that does not recognize hard work but recognize complainers. To keep increasing the minimum wage for example is extremely dangerous. These jobs are meant to be “starting” jobs not career jobs.
Before the pandemic we were at a pub next to the Arrowhead pond on business trip. We had dinner and a couple of drinks. I had a beer my coworker had a mixed drink. My beer cost more than my buddy’s mixed drink. The waitress explained to us that in order to match the California minimum wage increase they had to raise all popular drinks and menu items to pay for it. She went on to tell us that her income as her dental hygienist position was roughly the same that she was making in the pub.
How is that for promoting the population to better themselves?
Why should I rely on the politicians? I 100% rely on myself to be successful. I have friends that have their own companies. They did not rely on political figures to help them. They worked their butts off to be where they are where they are.
You make a choice in life. You either put your head down or you wait for gold bars to fall on your lap. We all know what happens next. Do you think an athlete becomes a pro because he is good enough?
It never works that way. It is the same thing in real life.
I posted this before. It applies to everyone of us.

Hard work always pays off. It has not yet? Work harder and you will succeed.

It starts in our own house. It always does. Let’s stop blaming the system.
