Only one Big 12 school (Tech - billionaire Sugar Daddy).
Most are large brand programs with huge fan bases.
Bucket Two is fan fiction.
NIL isn’t creating parity.

Wait a minute did not someone said that uta did not need to pay players to be recruited?
This has always been the case.
It takes one or two $Billionaire to change this. teetech is there to prove it.
We still managed to finish 4th in the National rankings but uta surely out spent us in the 70’s.
No, money does not buy you a championship. uta and atm lately are there to prove it.
The 2024-2025 College Football Playoff will feature 12 teams. The teams are: Oregon (11-0), Georgia (11-2), Boise State (12-1), Arizona State (11-2), Texas (12-2), Penn State (12-2), Notre Dame (12-1), Ohio State (11-2), Tennessee (10-3), Indiana (11-2), SMU (11-3), and Clemson (10-4).
I think there’s more parity at the top of the sport than there was pre NIL but some of that could be just as easily attributed to the expanded playoff. SEC/B10 pretty balanced for now but I do think longterm some of the traditional SEC powers may struggle in this era.
i’m guessing this is spending by nil money ? seems bama would be ahead of tenn and auburn.
Did you all notice?
How many so called cfp championship won by these 10 schools?
2
Sure we have bama and georgia that can’t be far behind.
There are two Texas schools that have been hoarding a countless amount of five stars recruits with what results?
I’m not surprised at all. Bama used state $$ to build the best facilities, which paired with Saban gave them a big advantage over everyone else.
And let’s not kid ourselves, we can expect to see Texas Tech soon be - “Movin’ on up” - in their talent level and competitive nature.
According to SI.com, some pollsters only voted for the top five. This from the article:
“It is important to note that On3 claims some polled stakeholders only opted to vote for a top five list, as they believed the cut off from the top five to the rest of the big spenders in college football was too vast.”
I am surprised Auburn is spending more than Alabama. Don’t you know that Alabama NIL fundraising is going to use that as a rallying cry to its donors. Same with Michigan getting outspent by Ohio St.
Noticed that too. My initial assumption is that Auburn may have a couple of big donors that are swaying the stats.
…and uta has had the PUF to build them a Taj Mahal with a uterus friendly design.
So they either just filled it in themselves or used the half azzed data to complete the list?
The link just went to the SI home page when I clicked it. Not sure where the quote came from. But I did find one part interesting (assume it is for the initial post).
As to the quote “opted to vote for”…
Why is there voting on a list that is supposed to be ranking based on an actual number? It is easy to calculate which number is larger than another number. Essentially the list is complete made up garbage of who thinks should be spending the most.
They may not have championships, but they’ve had much more success than us since I’ve been a Coog (01).
Tell the great satan to give us the money they have had since you graduated (01) with that we will see how high(ranking/trophies) we can get. Moreover I will order a PUF full share. Then I will demand that uta sells the Houston land. Got a deal nateski87?
I bet Tim Cook put some money up for Auburn.
What we can expect is Tech will STILL lose 3 or 4 conference games, because thats who they are.
Tech plays the prohibitive favorites to win the conference, KState and ASU, on the road. Add a resurgent Utah on the road to that mix, 0-3 is just as possible as 3-0. That why your over the top hopium is unnecessary. Even the Tech faithful understand this.
Like Texas needs it lol.
They have a gigantic fanbase and many wealthy alums more than willing to help.
We can’t even get our students to attend games much less support our great when they graduate.
Tech and possibly BYU are the only Big 12 members who might get goo goo eyes, from the big guys.
@uhlaw97 do you have a link to that data? Just curious what all spending they are counting, if it includes NIL or what.
