We have arguably the best if not the best football recruiting area in the entire nation.
How many H.S.'s have U of H athletes coaching in these H.S.'s?
Is there a dedicated program from our A.D. to “plug in” UH football athletes in these roles when they graduate? A “pipeline”, an organized pipeline could be a great benefit to us.
Coaches have to earn their stripes.
Connections may help someone get on a staff but they still have to put in the work.
They also have to be good to advance.
I have personally coached with and against several guys that were All-Conference football, Basketball baseball, etc.
Some good, some lazy and some just not good coaches.
My point is, it takes a lot more than being hot sh-t in college to make your way up the coaching ranks.
To be honest, it’s usually the guys that just played HS ball or a little in college that make the best coaches.
I am in agreement with what you wrote. I brought up the point of having a U of H H.S. coaching pipeline. An average player can become a great coach. I have witnessed it in soccer at local and International level.
You’ll be risking lawsuits and such cause that coach better have some kind of qualified subject and certification also you don’t want to get in the middle of that
It’s already a backdoor system in place and apparently it works as coaches still hire their friends pending their qualified
And the good programs tend to get a different quality of coach as this new generation of coach don’t cut their teeth at inner city schools anymore
