Firefighters around 3:50 a.m. responded to a report of a fire in the 3400 block of Roseland Street, at Griff’s Irish Pub, and arrived to find flames coming out of the building, officials with the Houston Fire Department told On Scene reporters.

So sad

Sent condolences to my son.

He and his friends believe it was for insurance purposes.

To be fair, I’m surprised it hasn’t burned down earlier

I watched the Rockets win at least one championship at Griff’s. It was epic. Sad loss. Not sure who owned it, but I knew the owners well in that era.

I have fond memories of going to Dallas on the Griff’s Army motorcoaches for the Oilers-Cowboys pre-season football games. Plenty of adult beverages on hand, snacks, and tons of fun. Great times.

Sucks, old Montrose charm continues to disappear.

Last time I was there was St. Patrick’s Day when UH played Michigan in the dance.
