Has Ed Oliver had the most successful NFL Career out of any UH football player?

After watching at the 53:20 mark, had me thinking about it. I think the video may be right. Ed has been a starter since his rookie year, earned his second contract, has over 220 tackles, 25 sacks and has a chance to make it tonthe Super Bowl.

Antowain Smith had more than one Super Bowl ring and more than one thousand yard season.

Kimble Anders was also a great Pro who made THREE pro bowls as a Fullback.

But yeah. Oliver could end up being the greatest of all!

Simon Fletcher had 97.5 career sacks (16 in 1992) and played in 3 Super Bowls for the Broncos. Avg 13.2 sacks/yr from 1989-1993. 828 career tackles.

Riley Odoms was a 4x Pro Bowler with almost 400 catches, over 5700 yds receiving and 41 career TDs as a TE.

Greg Brezina was REALLY good. I love coach Yeoman but the myth that he won with inferior players is a bunch of bean dip. We had REALLY good players

Yes, I agree w the ones listed above. Oliver has got a ways to go reach the level a few that have been listed. The 2 Ex Broncos had long very successful careers and were rewarded for such achievements. Newhouse was one the main FB/RB on 3 Dallas SB teams ( Staubach era) , winning one in 1977.

Looks like Odoms (four pro bowls), and Anders (three pro bowls), lead the way!

Brezina only has one pro bowl, and if Oliver makes one this year, it’ll be his first. Smith and Newhouse had none.

Lamar Lathon had a very solid career.

And from a coaching standpoint, Tom Landry received a graduate degree from the University of Houston

Of our O-Linemen, Vollmer probably had the best pro career, with two SB rings, an All-Pro selection, an “All-Dynasty” team, and a best protector’s selection.

He only had 11 sacks in 5 years.
