Hate Being Critical

But, am I the only one that doesn’t like the merging topics policy?

You are not the only one. It’s a bit ridiculous, even more so in the off season.

Please merge to the merge dislike thread…

Maybe if enough people complain maybe they’ll do something about it. Ever since coogfans got new ownership it’s been like that.

I think there should just be one thread

or more that but there are always quite a few loud ones that complain…

You are not the only one who doesn’t like it. I’ve been around coogfans for close to 25 years. Used to be different in that way. However, other message boards (Texans message board) are even more strict about opening/merging topics- every board is moderated differently. It is what it is. Personally I feel that it has to reduce traffic but I don’t have the evidence to support that and someone who likes merging would probably tell me otherwise.

Its stupid. I dont wanna dig through 2K posts to find out that Jwan sign with someone or Keenum is the new QB at wherever.

Starting a new thread may clutter the board but its only temporary and they usually get buried after the news goes around and people post new topics. Constant merging threads makes the message board look dead.

PS… phuc ur white helmets and keep that North Carolina blue AWAY from the basketball team!

I hated the old way more, at least during the season. I do think the pendulum might have swung too far in the other direction, but having 5 threads per user every time there’s a major news item was awful. Every special little boy posting an entire thread after every game to capture the same two-sentence takeaway that everyone else on the board had was the worst.

You almost got me… was about to hit like for your anti-merging philosophy, but then I had to hold back as you disrespected two of our most beloved traditions… white helmets and h-town blue.

Majin delivers a Herculean disparagement of the policy in question. Epic.

May just start merging all posts into one…

I really dislike the merging but can’t wait for football season to start… last payment about to go through and then I can watch Cenac tear up the Big 12 and go 1st in the draft next year…

Can’t believe they shot those firefighters…

The best way to resolve this is a new UX/UI redesign using AI to build a thread hierarchy with sub-topic to the category or just daily/weekly logs to it. I like that X uses a sub-thread to a comment when commentors are replying to the parent comment. I wouldn’t mind partnering with Ryan on a redesign of the site leveraging AI to do this along with improving it’s performance and offering g a native app in the AppStore.

What would be cool is the homepage showing popular feeds from the threads like most liked comments, best exchanges, and braking news. as highlights each day. Would also be cool if we could pull in article feeds, X posts, and other social media content into a section of the home page.

I visit the site, check for new threads of interest, and typically leave within 1 to 2 minutes max. I used to visit daily now maybe just once a week.

In the transfer portal era a new thread for each player who joined or left the team allowed me to have some semblance of knowledge about the guys on the team. It’s been challenging keeping up these days.
