We definitely need to take these next two weeks and get as ready as we can to break our losing streak versus Kansas.

Hopefully, if we keep improving, and UCF keeps regressing, we can improve our record there as well in a year or two.

And if we can remain undefeated against Utah…it’ll rank as one of the season’s bigger upsets!

I would love to climb our way to a winning record against all of them

I was at the 1971 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl where Colorado beat Houston 29-17 in the Astrodome. I remember Colorado RB Charlie Davis running wild, rushing for 37/202, and UH RB Robert Newhouse rushing for 35/168.

Colorado finished third in the AP Poll that year and UH finished seventeenth. Fun game to attend, from what seems like 100 years ago.

I’d love to play them this year and even the score!

Looks like we’ll have to wait!

Didn’t they pull a fake punt on us that game?

Colorado sure did. From the endzone and got a first down. Found this video of the game. Lots of famous Cougars. QB Gary “Moon” Mullins, RB Robert Newhouse, TE Riley Odoms. Narrated by long time Rice SID Bill Whitmore. Game starts about 6 minutes in to the video.

Great Find!!!

Wife and I attended that 1971 game.

Our team that year was very good but Colorado was better.

They finished #3 in final polls that year.

I attended. Loved the Bluebonnet Bowl and wanted UH to play in it every year because it was convenient, inexpensive and it gave UH a home field advantage.

The Big 8 finished 1,2,3 in the final polls
Nebraska

Even though our start hasn’t been stellar, 3 legacy B12 8s hate us now since we have the jump on them:

WVU
Baylor
TCU

That’s how rivalries are made, keep it up!

4-0 against Utah? I always knew there was something special about the coogs

I can’t remember us ever playing Utah but I have only been following UH since 87 so they must have played them during the Yeoman years.

Yeah, looks like it was the 60s and 70s according to winsipedia.

How have we only played UCF 11 times…
