Iām actually very optimistic about CDH and what heās trying to do at UH. We have a reputable coach who actually wants to be here.
Yes, I know. Losing sucks.
Hereās what I expect from CDH and from most college football programs:
- some level of undisciplined play
- some level of bad play calling/coaching
- some level of underperformance
These things are normal for most of D1 football. Weāre not Bama, Georgia or Ohio state. So relax Coogs. And please, for the love of Coach Pardee, donāt blame the players. They are playing their hearts out.
But hereās the biggest concern for me:
- offensive production and play calling
CDH is supposed to be an offensive guru. Early in his career he brought innovative misdirection concepts that put big numbers on the board. If nothing else, the offensive play calling SHOULD be solid because of CDHās reputation.
But no. Thatās not whatās happening. Even the announcers (from all 3 games) have mentioned how our offense is plain, vanilla, predictable. Their words, not mine. One announcer predicted 2 or 3 plays live on-air just to make a point. It was embarrassing.
This is NOT a CDH offense and if weāre not getting that, then why the hell is CDH here?
As I said, Im optimistic about CDH because I know what heās capable of. Hopefully, he starts to call the plays or fires the OC by years end.

Those of you that are calling out posters for not being āgoodā fans need to check yourself.
Anyone that frequents this board is a fanā¦.the people on this board are the ones going to the games and giving money back to the school.
As far as Iām concerned Pearland or anyone else that wants to bit;( and moan and be pissed have every right to do so.
Iāve been a die hard Coog fan since I was a little kidā¦.I have my masters from UH but my undergrad was from the school I played ball atā¦ā¦ and even during that time I still loved all that is UH.
Iām pissed. In three weeks I have seen things happen that should not happen to any D-1 team let alone one with this much talent and a coaching staff that gets paid what they do.
I hope they right the ship and win every game left but Iām still going to look back at these last two games and know the coaches let the players down. They did not put them in position to winā¦. We used to say they set them up for failureā¦.and guess what? They failed.
This coaching staff needs to put in the damn hours and set these young men up to winā¦.anyone that knows football knows what Iām talking aboutā¦. These losses are not on the players.

I think a lot of us enjoyed his approach and PR he got thru his marketing efforts. Yea he left I would have too for the $$$

Coog 51, you put awful in caps, do you really think 30 seconds from beating the #1 team in the country is awful? You stay in bounds and you win, different season, probably not in Birmingham Bowl. We have had some bone head plays the first three games, still a lot of season left, and yes CDH will be back next year and the fan support cannot get any worse than it already is. Let just hope the B12 travels well to fill up our stadium.
PS: Basketball is only a month away.
