UNC recruiting is ranked 16th. I would say that is outstanding. It takes time for their roster to be rebuilt. Does that sound similar to another program dear to us?
Every new coach gets ONE freebie sucky season. We’ll see how UNC’s coach does in year two.

Wes needs a raise. Did a great job of evaluating and pulling talent out of the G5. Several starters were at a G5 school last year.
I’m not surprised by Wesley’s success. Willie’s Father was a Head Football Coach, before Willie. Willie played both college basketball and football at Pittsburg State before embarking on his coaching career. And Wes played college Basketball at Central Missouri before starting his career in Athletics. Wes has great, 3rd generation, genes in athletics. I suspect he will go the assistant AD / AD route though, as his resume screams leadership in Athletics. He has a GREAT Mentor…

Their HC/GM combined salary is 5th in the entire country. They’re looking at a 3-4 win season. With the amount of resources they’re pouring in and how bad the ACC is, there’s really no excuse to not have at least a winning season.
Edit: btw their recruiting if you look at average recruit rank is only marginally better than ours. Thats okay but given the money they’re shelling out one would expect quite a bit more.

Agreed. Willie knows how to surround himself with good people. In Wes’s case, he’s been mentored for this role, and his father was a Head Coach, for his entire life.
The best part is, I know Willie… and Wes’s career path was ENTIRELY his own choice.
