Highest Revenue Earning College Football Programs in 2023, per @Sportico

Wow.

Illinois?

The ultimate B1G parasite is in the Top 30.

NO WONDER everybody wants to be in the P2.

Washington State, Oregon State, and UCLA make more than USC?

REALLY???

That has to be a mistake.

USC is private. So don’t know how much $

Ah, I see.

So it’s really the Top 50 publics.

Got it.

Still though.

Illinois is in the Top 30?

GaTech is ahead of some P2 schools?

Kinda surprising.

Filling up the football stadium might get us closer to something, I don’t know where we rank, but more attending and less whining would do wonders for our image.

Utah surprises me being that high

It’s a state flagship school.

It’s a made up list. No way that’s real.

also #1 making more than 4x #50 is just crazy

Not sure how accurate this list can be.

Isn’t the SEC school pay out over $50 million for this past year? If so how do Kentucky, Missouri, and Miss St have less total revenue, did they give away all tickets to attend their events and have zero or negative value for ticket sales?

TxTech being that high surprises me…I mean, I know they have oil $$$ and whatnot, but still.

Must be in relation to what they spend…

I suspect the list is dubious at best. Some of what is out there in the public domain depends on how you account for different sources of “revenue”

I hate the off-season.

They have a great fanbase and alums who actually attend games and donate back to the U

Wow.

Illinois?

[/quote]The funny thing is the AD (or president, can’t remember) recently released a statement about his concern for the future of Illinois in the Big 10. He’s concerned about some sort of relegation if the only priority is money

Too manys schools in the P2 that aren’t really worth what they’re being paid. They just got extremely lucky. Where does this end?

Are you even capable of commenting without it being so infused with bias?

Lets see the numbers for BYU these days… its certainly doesn’t have the power of the LaVell era anymore, and that’s back when as a kid I was all about the BYU bandwagon. After LaVell left, and I began to realize what a slimy coach he turned out to be (RUTS on any team and every team possible, forget the sportsmanship) it was a brutal reality check for me and beyond disillusioning.

But the COJCOLDS would never have the courage to admit what the reality is… propping up BYU athletics as a religious recruiting tool. Sigh.

It’s a legit concern.

That’s one reason that I don’t see a 48-50 team breakaway happening.

Even if the P2 did split off, I am guessing that they would get rid of some of their more dilutive members.

And if they add anyone, it’d be ND plus a few of the largest ACC teams. That’s it.
