Hire Character

I like Blake Anderson, Troy Calhoun, and Todd Monken. As far as I know, they are all men of good character. But I would prefer that Dana works out. Changing staffs pretty much means losing a recruiting class when we really can’t afford to do that.

Sonny was a good hire for anyone posting attention. Didn’t know he would be this good but the people who were underwhelmed we’re those fixed on making a splash (which is usually though not always a mistake)

Hire a winning coach, as Dykes was.

Blake’s star has dimmed this year but he’s long been on my radar.

I don’t think Calhoun is a good fit. Can’t explain why those.

Monken’s abandonment of Southern Miss is a dealbreaker.

I’d like a gritty coach. Tom Herman was so good his first season here. Did almost everything right. The dark side of him came out more over time but he was electric, competent, and what I would want in a coach based on his first year and a half here.

A Saban type coach would be a dream for us.

Name me a university that doesn’t state, at least publicly when they are searching for a head coach, “we are looking for someone with character to teach our student athletes”.

Okay, you can exclude the SEC.

Somehow convincing Troy Calhoun to leave USAFA for thicker air would be funny.

Well, in hiring Dana we did hire a character.

Well said

Supposedly Calhoun inquired about coming here after Levine or maybe Herman.

Edit: it wasn’t anything serious uhcoog, i wasn’t demanding in anyway. More of way to stay out of trouble in playful way.
Whew.

Only Jesus Christ was perfect on this earth. I have learned not to idolize men…especially coaches…haven’t we all seen enough just in the last few years?
