Nice, only one Thursday Game. Again with the late Bye.
I have checked. None of our opponents have a bye before playing us.
and we have all season to prepare for navy
Here is the other nice part. Memphis plays Navy, then has a short week to prepare for us, AND they travel to UH. That is very bad… very, very bad for Memphis.
Starting 2-0 will be a challenged.
Absolute worst case scenario I see a 8-4 season. Hate that we have to play Temple and USF on the road.
I have us at 8-4.
That is a super late bye. Holy Moly.
I saw that. Who do we have to take out for Htown BBQ to discuss a better bye week placement.
It would be nice to start 4-0 , and rank. But realistically, I’m looking at a 3-1 start. It’s been a minute since UH football has lost at home. Hopefully, it continues this year.
Any chance us hosting a College Gameday again?
I think Tech is too early. I wish that Navy game was on a Saturday!
Not rank high enough Erik. UH would have to go undefeated deep into the season.
Another plus, our trip North to Temple is early. No inclement weather. Thank you.
It’s going to come down to QB play, on how good UH will be. Hopefully, Kyle Allen is the real deal since he has the most experience in our roster, and he was a former 5 star recruit. Crossing my fingers.
I was upset having a tough road game before that Thursday game until I saw that. Short rest after a punishment from Navy should slow them down a lot.
I’m calling us having a tailgate on 12/2/17 now. You’re all invited and you’re welcome.
This schedule is very favorable for us. Even though we have another late bye week, only 2 short weeks. Even then, Memphis plays Navy and have a short week as well before they play us. Navy isn’t really a short week since it’s Friday, plus they play Norte Dame a week before us. For laughs, ECU plays 2 different Cougars (BYU and Houston). Hopefully Cincinnati can bang up USF before they play us.
Rumors out of San Antonio suggest there’s a good chance the game could be moved to Friday or Labor Day Sunday to get a national TV placement.
Houston’s three regular season losses in 2016 all come to TDECU Stadium in 2017. Memphis, Navy, and SMU all hit the road to play the Cougars, and are three of Houston’s toughest matchups.
To add on to this, we play back to back teams that run the triple option, Tulane and Navy. This also happens after the Bye week so we have a lot of time to prepare for Navy…
