“When you know what’s going on and you see it, it really blows you away how much the progress there has been,” said Pezman, who spent the last four years in the Cal-Berkeley athletic department. “And not just within athletics but the campus as a whole. The investment into academic facilities, housing, the city infrastructure.”
Houston’s athletic department emphasized its progress before dozens of donors in San Antonio’s Pavilion on Tuesday. Along with coaches Major Applewhite and Kelvin Sampson, Pezman hosted a Q&A and dinner with the spectators.
“We have approximately 4,200 alumni in the San Antonio area,” Pezman said. “It is our responsibility to make sure we get out and see them. As we continue to grow as a program and (establish) our footprint, San Antonio is very important to us.”
