Houston Astros 2023 Season on a daily roll

I think every team looks at him in awe and glad they don’t face him anymore. He was transformational. His wheel house was the size of a Walmart. So hard to get anything by him. And bat speed!!! Damn. He was moving pretty fast around those bases on 700.

I wish he would not retire and go after Bond’s number.

Not unless he keeps doing hgh

That’s a crap comment.

I would say go after Aaron’s record but I get your point.

I believe Yordan has the potential to become the next Pujols.

Mostly teasing, he did find his power out of nowhere since the all star break… im not mad either way, big fan

Javier deserved better today- I know we scored 11 runs yesterday, but we can’t seem to score much against Baltimore- I don’t get it.

It’s like their pitching coach came out of the Astros organization or something.

It may be good pitching but not to the extent the Astros made them look like…… I think the fellas take mental breaks every now and then….

They were on a run and clinched the division….basically have home field sewn up….combined with a long time since a day off……the baseball season is mentally exhausting….they are not going to be razor sharp mentally for 162.

I’m starting to think Javier should be the fourth starter in the playoffs

Considering the wage gap I think Pena is pretty dang good…

The good news is Baltimore isnt making the playoffs.

Also the Astros still have a small chance of setting a franchise best for wins. Have to go 7-1 or better to do it but it is possible.

Either way I’m good with what they did. I do like the idea of a franchise best season the year after Correa leaves. That’s front office resilience.

Pena is not as good as Correa defensively, but I like his potential for the near and long term future.

I’m not sure about that. His arm isn’t quite as good, but he has better range. He still needs to cut down on errors, but for a rookie, his .965 fielding percentage has been outstanding.

If you see the value in defensive WAR rankings, Pena is clearly better this year, and his defensive numbers are close to Correa’s best year (2021). Will Correa ever match that year?

.965 for a rookie SS in MLB is elite……he’ll get even better.

He does need to work on that slide into home, though. Road rash on the mug should be avoided.

Could Jake be in play for the postseason roster? Dubon sucks so bad

He would be a better choice for a late inning defensive replacement….Dubon does suck but somehow Dusty loves the guy……I don’t get it.

Unless Click suggests it , it will not happen on its own.
