My eyes watered up a bit then i remembered there’s no crying in baseball.
Only day I ever cried in my life , in baseball was senior day in college for my son….could not hold em back that day.

In regards to Cam Smith, I haven’t been this excited about a Houston rookie since Yao Ming in 2002…that should tell you all you need to know. Can’t wait for 2026!

I was pretty darned excited about Carlos Correa back in the day!
Springer was one of the most hotly-anticipated rookie call-ups because he was tearing it up and the Astros weren’t. But the Astros kind of sucked so not as many people were really paying attention - mostly talk radio guys and hard-core baseball fans.
I was pretty juiced about Yordan after kind of following what he was doing to minor league pitching, and he was even better than I thought he’d be.

Cam will out-do all of them, IMO. All you have to do is trust the eye test. History also tells us guys that get promoted to the majors with as little ML experience as he has (in Cam’s case, fewer than 40 games played) have long shelf lives and an incredible high rate of success.
It’s no accident he’s on the roster.
I’m gonna go back and find the posts where you guys( not necessarily you jay) said he had no shot….i think someone called me a fanboy or homer….something like that.

After his hoopla, I was excited about his BASEBALL talent, nothing else.
I wanna say there might have been a youtube video posted the day of the trade highlighting the six straight games he homered in for his Myrtle Beach team last season. That was all I needed to see to make me a believer.
