Channel 20!
Man, I loved those broadcasts. Deshaies and Brown are still ingrained in my memories of Astros baseball.
I used to fake being sick so I could stay home……on the days the Astros were playing at Wrigley Field.
I use to watch Cubs home games on WGN when I got home from school. Had to settle for Family Feud when they were on the road.
I don’t even mind paying for home games but MLB won’t even let you do that. You have to use Fubo and those creeps triple charge you
I had a really good friend growing up whose dad had one of the old school big a$$ satellite dishes….man, he could pick up any game for any team, home or away….after we watched the Astros we would flip back and forth between tons of games….good times.
The mythological F. Whitley looked pretty tough tonight.
Hunter B. is on some kind of roll right now.
I didn’t get to see the game….what was his velo?
I didn’t watch every pitch, but Hunter was at 99 a bunch - saw that he averaged 97.6 on his 4-seam.
I found this - pretty cool site that has pitch-by-pitch and exit velocities. Looks like Whitley topped out at 97.2, and Hunter at 99.2.
Whitley’s or Kelvin’s?
Nice to see HB picking up where he left off last year. Dude was nails from the end of May on.
Hunter brown is on fire to start the season!
Great relief outing for Whitley. It’s been a long time coming for him to shine.
Barring an additional physical setback, McCullars could soon be an exciting addition to the starting pitching rotation.
If Arrighetti can successfully recover from his broken thumb, the Astros rotation could become something special.
Wesneski another positive addition to starting pitching or long relief.
Blanco needs to step up or be relegated to RP or Sugar Land or traded. Next year is an arbitration year so he has a lot on the line.
Hader has regained his hot sauce delivery.
Pitching has been good…now we just need some of our hitters to improve to their normal yearly production.
Walker has been puzzling…hit a big homer on Saturday, then struck out three times on Sunday…Dezenzo did pretty well in his place last night.
Dezenzo would put up big numbers if he got 500+ AB’s.
Really impressed with Cam Smith….dude was in the middle of his college season last year at this time.
His numbers are not great but considering he is learning a new position and seeing these MLB pitchers for the first time!
Pretty damn impressed.
I ll be watching closely to see if he improves when he starts seeing these guys the 2nd and 3rd time.
When did Hunter Brown get the nickname, The Diesel?
I’ve also heard him called “The Big Train”….on Twitter.
That was Walter Johnson’s nickname.
I think our GM missed the window to try and extend Hunter. He has three yrs of Arbitration after this season. More then likely he plays it out and hits FA.
