Interesting … I would think ZD, as a former SS, would have better range than CS … am I wrong about that?
Yes.
Cam Smith can flat out run….Dezenzo is a good athlete but Cam is even better.
He has made some outstanding plays out there already.
They put a graphic up on TV last night showing that Smith is almost as fast at Pena. There’s only like 4 CFs who are faster in all of MLB, and I think Smith is like 4th overall in the AL. And he’s proving to get pretty good reads and jumps on the ball in RF.
Once he has seen these pitchers a time or two the power and hit tool are gonna show up big.
The Astros have put together some great ABs over the last couple of innings. That Olson dude that looks 12 years old had them totally under control until they worked a couple of walks and finally broke through. Reminds me of the Astros from a few years ago in a good way.
But why are we using Hader in a non-save situation? ![]()
I’ve been saying this crap since last year….now if they need him this afternoon his arm is tired….
So freakin stupid….its not as if he needs to get work because he hasn’t pitched in a week.
I guarantee if someone took the time to look his ERA in non-save situations is about 20….he doesn’t have the same adrenaline and focus in those situations….its human nature.
We have guys like ORT for a reason….and Van Wey hasn’t worked since when?
Even the TV guys were surprised he started getting loose.
I guess it’s possible that he was getting today off regardless of the situation so that he’ll have a little weekend before the next series.
Blubaugh is getting his first MLB start today in Wesneski’s place.

Sounds like Wesneski is quite used to throwing that much on 4 days rest.
If Blubaugh craps the bed I might give Gordon a shot next time.
Honestly, a 6 man rotation would be great and benefit Gusto, Blanco, Wesneski….but you need Hunter and Framber every 5th game.

LMJ is starting on the mound for your Houston Astros on Sunday!

Love this article on HB…
It does make me wonder, though - does the coaching staff view this as a learning experience and intentionally give a guy some leeway to go figure it out on his own. It seems like something as basic as him locating all of his pitches in the same spot would have been noticed and addressed by coaches.
When I turned on the game tonight, was confused by Chicago wearing Reds uniforms.
They were wearing Chicago Bulls colors.
Personally I thought they were dumb.
Why are you repping another team….do something different but with your own team.
It would be lame if the Astros came out wearing the ketchup and mustard Rockets colors.
Although maybe wearing bulls uniforms improves their attendance.

They’re both owned by the same owner. So I suspect he had something to do with it.
I doubt it because the Bulls haven’t done much since MJ retired.
The Sox average 15K a game….the Bulls average over 20K.
Chicago still loves the Bulls.
Chicago is a Bulls and Cubs city.
Here’s hoping Meyers has another outstanding game like yesterday.
