I’m hoping for a couple of things:
A solid outing from LMJ
Walker gets a couple of hits batting 3rd. He’s quickly approaching Abreu status.

I’ve talked my fair amount of ish about LMJ but happy to see him finally take the mound again and work out of a jam in the first. I’m sure I’ll be back to talking smack about him later but for now I’ll just enjoy the feel good moment.
Since when do they call an MLB game after 7 innings because of rain?
They’ve done it before, but only when the score is like 10-1 or something along those lines.
I’m surprised they called it off given it was a one run game. Oh well. Dropped this series to the lowly White Sox.
This must be since manfred applied seven inning double header games and man on second extra inning rules. I wonder if the players get free sno cones after the game?
Relief pitching was crap today.
What is the standard outcome for former star pitchers coming back for a start from a lengthy absence?
I think it’s pretty bad. But I’m working off memory.
As long as they play 5 innings it is official.
100% decision of the umps to call if the rain is not going to stop.
Had this been game 1 or 2 of the series the umps could have had them finish before starting the next game.
But since it was get away day they called it….but yeah, it sucks.
Dezenzo in RF did not help.
He’ll probably be a relief pitcher going forward.
The score doesn’t matter when they decide to call a game.
I’ve seen games where a team was up 7-0 and it starts pouring before the 5th inning started….they wait and wait and finally call it……so it is not an official game, all stats are flushed and when the game is made up it starts all over 0-0.
Umps can do pretty much whatever they want.
Don’t be so sure….he is getting paid too much money to put in the pen….they will give him every opportunity to start….part of that is because his arm probably can not bounce back the way a reliever’s arm needs to.
If he can build up to go 5-6 innings then he will continue to start….pitch count today was not going past 75 pitches or so.
I agree that he is best served in the pen like you do….i just don’t know right now.
The aggravating thing is that it was really coming down in the 6th and should have been suspended then - before we coughed up the lead. It was definitely affecting our pitchers.
I am in the camp, possible small, that doesn’t care much about the result the first 5-6 games. I want him rising steadily in velocity without pain.
If he can make it past my 22-inning threshold without going back on the IL I think he will help us greatly in September and October. I’m not a big enough guru to know if that’s as s starter or in the pen.
Yordan to the IL with the hand thing that bothered him last year. Becoming an issue as its clearly impacted his production too.
It looks like everyone in Sugar Land likes to start off slow, as well.
They’re bringing up Salazar, but nobody down there is hitting well enough right now to warrant a promotion.
Same at Corpus.
When Jake leads the club in BA, OPS, SLG and is near the top in a bunch of other categories, well…
Will Altive hold on long enough to achieve 3000 hits? He just turned 35 and is looking every bit like it.
Without looking, he would probably need to hit for his career average for another 5 years.
