Lol They are in love with him. He’s the best player on the team (arguably Altuve). They’re not looking to trade him.
Jesus man….where did I say they were “looking to trade him”?
No where….you made it up.
And unless you are in Dana and Jim’s hip pocket you have no idea what they think….
It’s funny that when I say something you shoot it down and say it’s “fan bias”….but when you say something it’s as though you have some sort of inside information. ![]()
BTW, when I hit you with the stats and explained it like you were 5 years old you had no retort except “they love him”.
I have already said I am not anti Yordan….i would love for him to play a 150 games and be in MVP conversation……but that likely won’t be the case as evidenced by the past.
He is one of few players in MLB that has the hit tool to match the power.
So ask yourself, why other than 2022 ( when he finished 3rd) has he never been in the MVP conversation ?
Because guys that play 70% of the time don’t have the numbers to justify it….
And Yordan is owed 80M over the next three years….so you saying “they love him” is well off the mark.
They are praying to whatever God they believe in and trying to calibrate all of the baseball superstitions to go their way.
And there is not one team in MLB “drooling to have him”….that statement shows how little you actually get it.
If he is healthy and has a great first half and the Astros are struggling then his trade value will go through the roof.
But as of today teams would be extremely cautious to spend 80M over the next three years and prospects for a guy that is “injured” ALOT.
This whole paragraph sounds like “They don’t like him and would rather trade him but can’t, so they’re stuck with him.”
If he hits 35 homers and close 100 RBIs I’m good with amount that.
This is based on your opinion. But the reason there is no mention of him trade rumors is because the Astros are not trading him. If the Astros announced today that Yordan was on the block, teams left and right would be bidding.
I’m not really anti-Yordan either…at least in regards to helping the team but I want to see the team aim for a world-series. I just think they’re acting like the third best player at a poker table trying to protect the money they got outta mommy’s purse.
Altuve is trending down. Correa is trending down. Yainer is banged up. Cole and Cam are great prospects but the projection this year is pretty iffy.
I think if the Astros seriously want to win the division they need Paredes at first and Walker at DH or vice-versa. This exponentially improves the RBI’s because you aren’t platooning 3rd. And I think a lack of RBI’s could be our achilles heel. We gotta pray Jake keeps his mo going in the right direction. I think Correa’s trend line is 11-13 HR’s this year. It’s gonna be a tough slog as is. Color me hopeful but worried.
This is pretty much it, and it’s why Yordan should be in LF most of the time. I think he should DH on Yainer’s days off and whenever either Correa or Walker are out.
I Think that this would make a lot of sense but with Yordan in left. Someone at KHOU actually floated Walker in left. Apparently, he has played it some in the past.
I heard that too but someone on here said that was pop-up website bullcrap. I can’t tell who the legit sources are anymore.
Speaking of pop-up websites. I’ve always disliked the Dodgers (more for their thorn in the side during the NL years) But now their fans have become insufferable. I hope this doesn’t happen.
Cole, Smith and Loperfido could all be complete busts and still put up better numbers than Conforto….
Dana should be fired if he acquires him.
He already lucked out once by getting the Jays to take Sanchez off our hands….but sure, let’s grab Conforto, a guy who is even worse than Sanchez for more money.
Still waiting for him to bring in Christian Vasquez for 6 times the money Salazar cost to do the same thing.
Apparently Imai has some serious sh-t.
Players talking about him having an ungodly splitter….and he made Altuve look pedestrian at best.
Yeah, his game film is mesmerizing.
He’s like Greg Maddox using pine tar.
Right at the end watch how he curls his elbow before he goes into release. Interesting to know his spin rate.
Sore, maji de yabasugiru desho. Shinjirarenai yo!!!
Cole was 0-1 but walked twice and stole 3 bases….
Alimber looked good in his inning.
Stolen bases. Me likey!
Bolton looked good today
His room key might not be working anymore.
Are other teams playing their starters against us in spring training or are our young guys that dreadful?
5-0 Mets in the 4th
6-5 Mets in the ninth
6-6
On a bright note Carlos Perez went 2-2. As did Trammel. I know. The score doesn’t mean anything. I still like to win.
How long has it been since GM Dana told us more deals were in the works and he wasn’t done yet? ![]()
There’s a banged up guy out there. Dana needs to sniff him out. Maybe another pitcher with a bad elbow.
Yeah, I have a feeling that anyone who gets added now will warrant the WHO’s HE?! treatment. ![]()
Personally I don’t think this warrants a story in the Chron but it must be slow out there.

Anyway, I’d say its a little early to start celebrating. Lets see how Sanchez has done with top tier pitching around June?
Well, it’s pretty obvious that the Astros hitting coaches were lame, even without the Sanchez example. Whether the new guys are better is TBD, but the change gives me hope.
