Haha He is the same player now that he has always been. His trade value in the offseason would have been the same than it would be now. Teams would have been all over a trade for him then than they would be now if the Astros tried to trade him. He is a top five player in the game and has always been. Even when getting hurt in previous seasons, he always played in the playoffs and produced.
You have no idea what you are talking about “haha”.
His value at the All-Star break or next winter( assuming he keeps this up) will be significantly higher than it was this past winter.
The Astros would have never even entertained an offer for him….want to know why? Because they would have gotten low ball offers BECAUSE of his constant INJURIES!
Thinking otherwise is moronic.
Coming off multiple seasons of missing huge chunks of time is where he was this past offseason….to actually think his trade value would have been the same then as a half or full season of what he is doing?
GTHO with that stupid take….
I’m not going back and forth with you anymore….go have that conversation with your buddies at work…maybe they are dumb enough to believe your nonsense.
The Astros wouldn’t have entertained an offer for him because players like him don’t grow on trees. You don’t trade them. He is up there with the Shohei’s and Aaron Judges. He missed one full season. Sure, he has had some injuries along the way in his career but always came back to play and produce in the playoffs. You have a fan perspective of his value as opposed to what teams have always viewed him as. And that’s fine. It’s why you’re not a GM but a fan posting on the Astros thread.
