Houston Astros Baseball & MLB Discussions

My dad and I are decided last year to try and hit all the stadiums. We’re working from the West Coast out but so far I’d have to say Oracle Park in San Francisco is at the top of my list and Dodger stadium easily at the bottom.

Good idea. Dodger Stadium has changed over the last 20 years. Not that wholesome anymore.

Worst place in the country to wear your team’s colors. Although I haven’t been to the Bronx in 20 years.

Btw - Dubon hitting .520 after 17 ABs.

I went to the Astros/Yankees in Yankee Stadium 2 seasons ago. It was game 2 of the series. Game 1 was the no hitter. We were mowing them down most of the game, but Judge walked it off in extra innings. The Yankee fans around me were pretty cool. After the game, the A-holes came out. One D-bag even got in my 13 year old (at the time) face yelling and cussing. I almost got arrested.

I haven’t been to Yankee stadium since 2009 when it opened. I went to old yankee stadium the year before. I remember in ‘09, Arod just came off of the DL and came up for his first at bat. The entire place gave him a loud standing ovation. He then proceeded to strikeout and the entire place booed him and many yelled that he sucked. Lol My cousin’s husband is a Yankee fan, so it has been fun having bragging rights over him these last several years.

Cole out for Yanks v Stros opener. Elbow discomfort.
Could be bad. Yanks back after Cease.
Judge may also be out for Stros series.

That dude may be MLB’s hottest hitter right now.

Hunter Brown is looking good, too. I’m feeling better about the pitching right now.

I’ve been to most MLB parks, at this point. I’ve had tickets to two Yankees games (old stadium), but both got rained out. Of those I’ve been to, this is how I’d group them:

Top tier:
Boston
Chicago
Pittsburgh
San Francisco
Cincinnati

Next group:
St. Louis
Baltimore
Cleveland
Detroit
Minnesota
Seattle

Pretty good:
Kansas City
Milwaukee
Colorado
Philadelphia
Atlanta (previous version)

Meh:
Dodgers
Arizona
San Diego
Texas (previous version)

I kind of liked Petco Park (SD) but I will say that the walk up to the stadium may as well have been in Skidrow.

It’s the hardest stadium to get into because of the traffic around the park. Literally takes an hour to go from the beginning of the entrance to the parking area to the inside of the stadium. That alone sours the experience but frankly it only gets worse once you’re in. Angel stadium isn’t anything special aesthetically speaking but it lends itself to a much better experience. Fans are better behaved, lines are shorter, tickets are cheaper, etc. Best thing you can say for Dodger stadium is it has LA weather. Worst part is you might get stabbed in the parking lot for wearing your teams colors.

Yeah, I liked the park. I just didn’t think the overall experience was as good as some of the others.

Javier looking like his old self.

4 innings no runs.

Montero also rounding into form.

O innings and 4 runs.

This summer we are going back to NYC for probably the 10th time in 7-8 years….wife and daughter love it.

I go to Yankee Stadium every time we go ( in the summer)….actually only caught the Astros there once….but even when I watch the Yankees play a random team I wear either my Biggio or Ryan jersey and never heard more than a lighthearted jab.

Maybe if I bought and wore an Altuve or Bregman jersey I might get a different reaction.

Cole out till late May or longer.
Help not on the way. Dylan Cease 2 Padres.
W Sox get Padres 5th/ (85th overall)/ 7th/ 8th prospects.
Long Reliever Steve Wilson.

A good 21 minutes.

Both of those work to our favor

So, it looks like the Astros are trying to sign Blake Snell. I hope they can land him. Apparently, Jose Urquidy make have tweaked something today.

Curious who is gonna pull the trigger on Trevor Beaur, LA dodgers invited his team out to pitch against minors. Claims he was still hittting 99.

He’s got stuff

He wasnt hitting 99.

He was sitting 94 and touched 97.

Probably his agent put that out.

And I don’t care what he’s got….he’s a turd :poop:.

Besides Funk, did you forget we have Blanco?!

A deep dive on Snell
Snell signing would be a 3d round 24 pick forfeit. Hader was a 2nd round forfeit.
Worth it for a ring chase but not ideal.
