How do you get a significant ankle injury in BP? Did he foul one off of his ankle?
The Astros knew what they were getting. Correa was on track to hit 12-13 homers, had an ankle full of hardware, and was susceptible to weird injuries. At the price I understand the move. But this was predictable. You get what you pay for. Have a nice day.
Now Dana is a genius for not trading Paredes. ![]()
Obviously not with Correa but we have 4 guys on the IL with soft tissue injuries……nothing has changed….no oversight on making sure these guys are stretched out properly before every game.
90% of all guys playing baseball in college, MiLB, and MLB go years without any kind of soft tissue injuries.
This is a club issue….from the players, to the coaches to the trainers….ridiculous.
Anyone that thinks they are just “bad luck” injuries don’t know what they are talking about.
Imai’s latest excuse is that he’s not used to a pitch clock because they don’t have them in Japan.
This guy is absolutely ridiculous….and oblivious to how pathetic he sounds.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Carlos is out for the YEAR!
For a team already struggling to find some fight, losing Correa for the season is a killer. His production won’t be irreplaceable, but this team just doesn’t have enough dawg to win.
He supposedly popped a tendon in his left ankle taking a swing in BP.
He may be done for good.
You should not be “popping” a tendon in batting practice.
One thing for sure, if he can make it back and be productive Carlos is the guy to do it….
He won’t pull that tucker sh-t.
The tough thing for him is that he always has that plantar fasciitis problem lurking. The last time I wrecked my ankle, it led to several months of heel and Achilles pain that was hard to get rid of.
Granted, I wasn’t going through professional rehab, but still.

Feels like time to finally break it down at All Star break.
It’s early.
Imagine how you could restore your youth corps dealing Yordan, Peña, Abreu, Paredes, and Yainer at the break. You could conceivably go from one of the worst farm systems to the best overnight…and probably walk away with one of the lowest payables in the league.
90% of your organization payroll would be tied up in Walker, Imai, and maybe Brown and Altuve.
Ex-Astro Framber Valdez meltdown in Detroit. Sorry to see. His manager A.J. Hinch is not happy with him.
That sounds horrible, honestly. ![]()
Having the “best farm system” just means the big squad sucks, and there are no guarantees that those youngsters make the jump. Ask Baltimore.
Like I said about Correa, losing his production isn’t going to kill the Astros. Not getting major league pitchers back in the lineup is what will do that.
Uh yeah. Is there a guarantee these old f–ers are going to do anything in the next three years. Take a look around. The big squad sucks now.
Yordan, Pena, Abreu and Diaz are old? When did that happen? And Paredes?
Anyway, I think the worst thing that can happen is to put Brown in charge of some kind of prospect-building trade strategy, especially with high-value guys. No thanks.
This team is losing 60% of its games with these young guys. There’s no marketable way to go out and improve anywhere. You have next to no one in the farm system that would command market value for name arm. Even if you could you risk depleting the minors a decade of futility. Correa is gone. Altuve retired and didn’t tell anyone. Yainer runs and hits like he’s 84 years old, and Peña can’t stay in the lineup.
And you take out Abreu and Hader and you couldn’t package five of our bullpen for one starting second baseman.
I’m not sure the results would be that much different.
If you’re trading assets, then trade Cam Smith and Matthews, too - those guys will bring back a ton of prospects.
I just don’t get this knee-jerk “blow it all up” approach triggered when one old guy hits the DL.
But it doesn’t matter who’s on the roster if the team doesn’t address the strength and conditioning and pitcher usage problem that has landed them where they are now. We would just have a new group of nobodies getting hurt.
What??? Trade Matthews and Cam?
No thank you.
It’s dumb - I agree. And that’s the point.
Anyway, it’s time for McCullers to move along and maybe go take care of whatever injury they can come up with.
